25.01.2022 To all our wonderful volunteers at Fernlea House, Stephenson House & the Shop of Opportunities, the Fernlea Board and staff truly appreciate the contribution you make across our organisation, not only during National Volunteer Week, but every week. Your efforts make the Fernlea community the great place it is - you are a true example of the theme for National Volunteer Week 2020, Changing Communities, Changing Lives. While we are not able to gather together this week as ...we would have liked, please take a moment to view the video below that we have put together to show you our appreciation. Happy National Volunteer Week.

09.01.2022 What a lovely spring morning :)

09.01.2022 Were going on a bear hunt, were going to catch a big one what a beautiful day, were not scared A new and fun online movement has called the bears into action for the broader community, as we face the challenges of this Covid-19 pandemic. A growing number of people worldwide are placing bears in their windows, gardens, verandahs, etc., as part of a bear hunt to entertain children during the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns. Parents can take children for walks in their ne...ighbourhood while maintaining adequate physical distance from others and kids search for the bears while getting exercise and time outdoors. The hunt is inspired by the childrens book Were Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury, in which the characters sing: Were going on a bear hunt, were going to catch a big one what a beautiful day, were not scared. An Australian Facebook group, Were Going on a Bear Hunt Australia, has attracted more than 17,000 bear hunters. Many other local groups are popping up. Members share photos of bears spotted in their area, and sightings grow by the minute. Join in the fun today - we have! Our bears are in the window as we speak :) The FB link is as follows: https://www.facebook.com/groups/659529201540181 Send your pictures to us at: [email protected] - we will put up a collection each week on this page . Keep your eyes out :) Enjoy See more
