25.01.2022 JUNIOR SEASON RETURN TO PLAY UPDATE Good evening everyone, We hope you are all keeping well through these strange times and that you are very much looking forward to the summer ahead!... Subject to COVID-19 restrictions and council approval, at this stage we intend to kick off our junior club season in mid-November with various age groups commencing between Wed 11th Nov and Sun 15th Nov. A 15 Round (plus Finals) 1-day season has been planned across all junior grades. All clubs have been briefed in relation to Junior Return to Play. We will continue to engage with local government and Cricket Victoria in this space. PLEASE READ ON Both FTGDCA and the clubs have a lot to do between now and then to ensure a smooth return to play. Most of our clubs have opened up registrations for the 2020/21 season with most clubs only charging a minimal registration fee up front with the balance to be paid later on based on when the season starts (in many cases clubs are only charging $5 - $20 up front). Thank you to those who have already registered at their clubs. What we need now is for all of our junior families across the competition to jump on their club registration pages to register their junior players as soon as possible. By doing this you can guarantee a position at your club and you will be helping your club to establish both player and team numbers for the season. FTGDCA cannot draft up fixtures until clubs are in a position to advise how many teams they will have in each age group. 22.01.2022 We are very pleased and excited to announce that we have appointed Paul Montgomery as our Director of Coaching for our FTGDCA junior representative cricket program this season. Paul has an extensive cricket background having spent the past 20 years working in various roles for Cricket Victoria which included; Coaching & Talent Development Specialist (Greater Southern Country)... Oversight of coach development, player development and talent identification within the Gippsland, Southern Metro and South East Country regions CV Coach Development Manager Responsibility for all Cricket Coach Accreditations up to Representative Level in Victoria, Metro Game Development Manager Responsibility for all Cricket Coach Accreditation up to Representative Level in Victoria and for the ongoing education of all Coaches in Victoria done mainly via State and Regional Seminar Series. This involved liaison with Cricket Australia, along with the other States & Territories, as part of the National Education & Training Group Paul also had a club career that included coaching at Premier club Ringwood. Paul coached Ringwood to its maiden First XI premiership win in 2007/08 before backing it up with another premiership the following summer. These players will be able to attend the Saxons Sports Shop at Croydon from 14/4/2021 to collect last seasons trophies. This is not to be confused with 2020/21 (current season) awards which shall be presented at our 2021/21 presentation night on 13/4/2021.... 15.01.2022 COVID RESTRICTIONS - Update Further restrictions were eased on Sunday and this is how it translates into cricket speak on match day: 1. Batsmen waiting to bat are no longer required to wear masks but they are still required to distance the 1.5m from each other.... 2. Umpires are no longer required to wear masks Clubs this week will also be opening their canteen/bar/social facilities. Each club will implement their own policy and decisions around mask wearing inside and number of people allowed inside. Please assist your club by abiding by the rules they set out. If you are visiting a club you are expected to abide by their rules as well, if you don't like them then go home.

15.01.2022 Calling all junior Lysterfield Beavers!! Its time to register!! A note from the club;... Good afternoon all, I hope you are all keeping safe in lockdown and looking forward to the cricket season. Or just getting out of the house! The year all junior registrations will be $50 (free shirt for new first time players) across the board. You will also be able to play in multiple age groups if you choose to do so! We will be running at a loss but this is about our club giving something back to you after what you have all been through. We are hearing that a likely start date could be as early as mid-November (from Cricket Victoria) so please get your registration in so we can see our numbers in each age group and ensure we get our teams set up correctly. You will only need to pay $5 to reserve your spot and all other monies can be paid at a later date.
