25.01.2022 Hey Rams, Although yesterday was a rather smooth day for majority of it, we still had multiple incidents with the heat getting to a few players which really disappointed both Monique and myself. As players you need to be able to control yourselves better when out on the field.... We really pride ourselves on being a club with players that respect not only their team mates, but also their opposition so it was disappointing To hear that multiple players tried to take things into their own hands by confronting players from other teams. At the end of the day if you have issues with a player you need to go through the referee, as trying to take matters into your own hands will only escalate the problem. It was a hot day for everyone which means fatigue plays a large factor and people are going to miss read plays or bump into you at times. It is up to the referee to penalize players at fault but never up to players to try and take matters into their own hands! For the teams that came down with the right attitude and played through a VERY hot day, thank you . We will see you all Wednesday/ Thursday. Mitch/Mon.

Please just as a reminder that payments are due BEFORE the season kicks off so that we can meet government Covid standards. ANY teams that have less than 8 players registered by Wednesday will unfortunately have their games forfeited for the first week. This is a massive stressful task by both Mon and I to ensure we have ways of contact tracing so that we do not get fined. We cannot express the importance of this enough and appreciate your understanding with this during these times. 19.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Potential return dates! We know everyone is as eager as we are to get out on the oztag field ASAP and we appreciate everyones patience with this. ... Potential Recommencement Date: July 13th As with government legislation we will look to recommence around July 13th. However EXACT start dates are not yet confirmed. How will this work? Queensland Oztag is currently working on Covid-19 guidelines and protocols for all venues and individuals to follow for a safe return to play environment. When will we know fully? At current we are bound by the Federal and State Government with regards to rules that need to be followed. As soon as we have 100% confirmation from these bodies about a confirmed recommencement date all players will be notified. Please sit tight and stay tuned! Well be back on the field in no time.

19.01.2022 Hey Rams, With round 12 played last night for mixed and men’s wrapping up their round 12 tonight this means that finals will start next week for the lucky teams that made it. Both Mon and I just want to give you all a MASSIVE thank you for being a part of our BIGGEST season yet (with 72 teams). ... We have battled state of origin together, revised game times due to Covid restrictions, light issues with the fields currently getting a $200,000 upgrade and also a very stinking hot Super Sunday last weekend. Mon and I truly hope that you all enjoyed yourselves this season. Although our Autumn season is not starting up for another 8 or so weeks we are creating the link today so if your team is planning on returning next season please let us know so we can manually add you into the system. 17.01.2022 Hey Rams, 2020 has been a very challenging year for us as not only a club, but also as a sporting community. Our charity event in January (which raised $10,000 for the bush fires) feels like a life time ago followed by the three month shut down of all venues due to Covid. ... In summer we were unable to go ahead with a junior season but out of this decision we were able to push for our biggest senior summer season yet. Through all of these events and challenges we are still able to celebrate as a club today. Due to Covid-19 the annual QLD Oztag awards night was unable to go ahead in person this year with all awards instead posted online. Out of a possible 15 awards our club got nominated for six, winning three out of our six nominations. Uppa Rams . 15.01.2022 Hey Ramily, As we move to the halfway mark of our season there is some VERY important information we need to give out. Super Sunday date: 22nd November. This will be a double header round where all teams will play two games each on the 22nd of November to catch up any rain-outs we may get this season/ ensure we finish on time. ... Origin period - due to origin being on three Wednesday’s in a row (4th, 11th and 18th November) there will be MASSIVE changes during this period. PLEASE NOTE: Men’s elite, ladies elite and ladies social will be played on Thursday nights with our normal men’s divisions during the origin weeks (5th, 12th and 19th November). For all of our mixed divisions you will still play during the origin period on a Wednesday night (not every origin week) but we will only run two time slots (6:00pm and 6:35pm) so you get home in time for origin. For Wednesday the 4th of November we will have Mixed A and mixed E playing double header games (you’ll play at 6:00pm and then directly after again at 6:35) On Wednesday the 11th of November mixed B will play a double header round (6:00pm and then directly after at 6:35pm) with the mixed D teams playing one game at either 6:00pm or 6:35pm. On Wednesday the 18th of November mixed C will play a double header round (6:00pm and then directly after at 6:35pm) with mixed D playing one game at either 6:00pm or 6:35pm - Please note that during the origin period all mixed teams will play two games which means we only miss out on one week. - Men’s elite, ladies elite and social ladies will still get to play three games on a Thursday night (meaning you will be a week ahead of mixed) so you will only need to have one game on the super Sunday rather than two like all other teams. So today on We Miss Oztag Wednesday we thought we would share an awesome story about one of our very own Ferny Legends, Ms Laura Cross!!... So, Mitch and I would like to give a massive shout out to this lovely lady and fill you all in on what she is, and has been up to in the month of MAY! Laura is participating in this years Kiss Goodbye to MS Fundraiser. Her goal is to run/walk 150km in the month of MAY and were only 13 days into May and she has already reached half her KM goal! You Go Glen CoCo! This is such a worthy fundraiser and wed love our Ferny Fam to get behind it. $5 goes a long way, so if you could spare just $5 in these toughest of times I know Laura and all those suffering or living with the effects of MS would appreciate it. Many of you should know her name, or at least know her face! She is a massive part of Ferny, from playing, supporting, introducing new players to the game, as well as her constant support and help she gives tp Ferny every week. From Covid - 19, to no winter season, no junior season, no nationals, light issues, night changes, origin upsets, rain outs, bray closure, and everything in between it’s been a year. ... But amongst all that we have had SO MANY POSITIVES. From growing to 72 teams despite it all, to new team mates and friendships, 2 new elite divisions that made for one hell of a competitive comp, back to back social ladies comps, having a men’s D and mixed E division, massive state cup trial numbers, and so much more. We want to thank each and everyone one of you for doing 2020 with us! We are so excited to see what next year brings, and bring on finals footy next week!

Laura is participating in this years ‘Kiss Goodbye to MS Fundraiser’. Her goal is to run/walk 150km in the month of MAY and we’re only 13 days into May and she has already reached half her KM goal! This is such a worthy fundraiser and we’d love our Ferny Fam to get behind it. $5 goes a long way, so if you could spare just $5 in these toughest of times I know Laura and all those suffering or living with the effects of MS would appreciate it. Please arrive 10 minutes before your game, go to your field, play your game, then vacate the venue straight after. I know we miss each other but no catchups around the fields. SPECTATORS Limited. Ideally none. If you have absolutely no other option than to be at the fields then you must sign in and out at admin. If there are to many people congregated in one area, you will be asked to move on. SANITISE Please sanitise your hands before, during, and after games. There will be sanitisers around the fields and at admin but players are encouraged to bring their own where possible. PLAYER SIGN IN/OUT All players wishing to take the field must sign in with their referee before your game.
