21.01.2022 ***New update as of today***** All adults entering a school playground must now wear a face covering unless exempt on medical reasons. Your support is appreciated with this

15.01.2022 A few of you have been asking about Halloween in the playground. The newsletter sent out at the end of last term stated that the school would not be hosting the usual Halloween event. Instead teachers would be holding classroom events and children can come to school in costume if they so wish on Friday 30th October. Please ensure the school have your up to date email address.

12.01.2022 We've had a few parents messaging to ask for school times. Please do check the school has your correct email address and phone number. The timings for this week are as below: P1-P3 8.50 2.55 (12.15 Fri) P4/P5 8.40 3.05 (12.20Fri) P6/P7 8.50 3.15 (12.30Fri)

10.01.2022 For this week's chatterbooks we want to introduce you to the Green Pencil Award. The award is open to anyone from P4-S3 in Edinburgh. This years theme for the c...ompetition is "Nature in Lockdown". To enter, all you need to do is create a written piece that is less than 1 side of A4. You can write poetry or stories of any kind you like, and we can't wait to see what creative work you come up with. For this week's chatterbooks activity we wanted to think about some nature themed poetry, and there seemed no better book to match this topic than "A Year Of Nature Poems", by Joseph Coelho. Take a look at this book in our online catalogue. https://edinburgh.overdrive.com/library/kids/media/4687599 We challenge you to explore nature with your senses! Think about a time when you have been outside in nature, it could be at your local park, by a river, in the woods or even up a mountain! Really imagine yourself in this setting and use your senses to describe the setting as follows. Write down things you can SEE. Write down things you can HEAR. Write down things you can SMELL. Write down things you can FEEL/TOUCH. Write down things you can TASTE. Turn each of the things you have written into a line for your poem, you don't need to worry about rhyming. (You can have more than 1 for each sense!) and you'll find that your poem is super descriptive and makes people really feel like they are standing next to you while in this setting! We would love to see any of your completed descriptive works of poetry.

09.01.2022 Fridays remain a half day in Edinburgh schools. Children in P1-P3 will leave school at 12:15. Children in P4 and P5 will leave at 12:20 and children in P6 and P...7 will leave at 12:30. Tomorrow primary teachers will again come out and collect their classes rather than children coming into school themselves. See more

07.01.2022 Well done to all the winners. There were some amazing posters and it was very difficult picking the winners.

06.01.2022 We were delighted to welcome back the second grouping to school today. Tomorrow we look forward to everyone being back together. The staggered start and finish ...times will continue into next week. Please don’t come to school too early as this increases the number of adults in the playground. There are a couple of important reminders: In the playground, adults MUST follow rules on social distancing. Adults must NOT enter the building unless an appointment has been made. Adults other than school staff must wear a face covering when invited into the building. We will be reviewing how the new arrangements are working and will provide a further update next week.

04.01.2022 Please follow the rules

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, I thought it would be a good idea to set up this page offering FREE soup hampers for those of us that need it. The idea is that you will receive a ...bag containing everything you need to make a hearty pot of soup delivered free to your door for those living on the breadline. A loaf of bread will also be delivered along with the vegetables. A method card on how to prepare the vegetables can also be provided. Please share the page in order that we reach those in need during these difficult times. Take care everyone. Sent in
