17.01.2022 A natural, sustainable option for hair care is hard to find. If you go too natural you can find yourself ending up with dry, brittle, dreadlocked hair. But supermarket bottles leave your hair covered in silicone, chemicals and toxins. Insert @locou_haircare Locou is the product of local Mornington Peninsula salon owner Mel from @maykohair (who I entrust to domy hair) and we couldn’t be more excited to show you this range.... Mel has created a beautiful organic, vegan range that is able to be refilled either in their Mount Eliza salon or with these bags you can see in the second picture. Her aim is to reduce the amount of single use plastic bottles being consumed. And that makes our hearts happy. Other items in the range that aren’t pictured here are a hair repair mask, a serum and a kids all in one shampoo and conditioner. You know we love supporting small businesses doing the right thing so we hope next time you choose your hair care you’ll do the same. We have a 15% discount code for you so you can give @locou_haircare a try! Use MCM15 at checkout. Not only does this purchase support a small Peninsula business but it also supports the kind of initiatives we hope to see more of in the pursuit of keeping our planet beautiful @ Mornington Peninsula

16.01.2022 Rain room with my love

11.01.2022 It’s worse than staying at home and watching Netflix so please stop making that joke. It’s walking down the street and not only not seeing people’s smiles, it...’s not seeing their eyes. Because everyone is looking down. It’s being scared. All the time. Being scared of not having a mask in your car. Being scared of what people think of you when you’re out running without a mask on. Being scared that you’ll not see members of your family again. Being scared of the news and being triggered by ads on tv. It’s like living in fight or flight, every day. Not knowing what’s coming next. It’s mental health workers working 7 days a week. It’s worrying about your friends. It’s wondering when you’ll see your friends next. It’s wondering how much longer you’ll be able to keep your job. It’s feeling guilty for having a job but still feeling sad. It’s separated families. Families that are used to Saturday breakfasts and Sunday dinners. It’s two weeks of respite in 7 months. It’s watching people’s mental health decline around you and offering them your help while also watching your own mental health decline. It’s much more than 7 months of free money if you’re lucky enough to get it. So please stop telling Victorian’s to do the right thing or be grateful if you’re not here, living it with us. Please instead show love, empathy and kindness. Ask your friends and family what they need, how you can help and if they need regular phone calls. Please instead make sure they’re talking to someone, taking time out of the day to stop and breathe. To come up for air in this bombardment of social media posts, news reports and radio ads. Please instead offer to talk to their kids on the phone while they lay down for a few minutes. Please instead make sure their relationship is okay. Make sure they’re safe. Please instead send them a card or a letter. Tell them you love them. Listen to them. There are very few places in the world that have experienced restrictions as tight as these and while we don’t expect you to understand, please don’t tell us you do. Just be there.

08.01.2022 They never warned you about days like this; day when hell make a home in our chest Loss no matter what form is takes can leave you struggling to breathegrief so heavy you can barely walkpain that sits on your chest like a thousand pounds of weight. Until the light pours into the those broken parts and you can breathe again take every moment as it comes, honour your emotions, slow down and be present to what is.... Big love from my heart to yours
