20.01.2022 The last Waterwise School Gardener training in Perth for this year has been held at Spearwood Alternative School over the last two Thursdays. There is one more in Albany in October and of course we will be back again next year.

17.01.2022 We have spent the last couple of days at the WALGA Convention and Exhibition promoting our Environmental Services and Fertilise Wise Fertiliser Training. The Western Pygmy Perch got lots of attention!
16.01.2022 School Gardeners are braving the cold on the second day of the School Gardener Waterwise Training course. The gardeners are learning about Waterwise and Fertilise Wise principles. Thanks to Hollywood PS for hosting the training. The training is run by South Metropolitan TAFE and supported by the Water Corporation and SERCUL.
16.01.2022 The Annual Nutrient Survey for Local Government Authorities Results 2015 has just been released. This report highlights where Local Governments are at with Best Management Practices in nutrient management in their areas. One of the main statistics to come out was that overall 92 506 kg/year of nitrogen and 5 736 kg/yr of phosphorus has been applied by the 21 LGAs to a total of 2 335 ha. 12.01.2022 have been hosting School Gardener Waterwise Training over the last two Wednesdays. School gardeners from private and public schools around Perth have been trained in Fertilise Wise and Waterwise practices. Another training course is coming up in August so don't miss out!

09.01.2022 The Annual Nutrient Survey for Local Government Authorities 2016 Report has been released today. The survey revealed a moderate increase in the use of Best Management Practices (BMPs) in nutrient management by most LGAs. This year for the first time Score Cards were produced for each LGA that responded to the survey, which scores them on their overall level of nutrient best management practices since 2000. The last five years of answers for each question are also highlighted to clearly demonstrate trends with recommendations made on how to improve practice where needed. 04.01.2022 The results are in! The Annual Nutrient Survey for Local Government Authorities 2018 Results have been collated. The report indicates that a slight increase in nutrient best management practices has been achieved by the Local Governments that responded to the survey. 02.01.2022 School gardeners from around Perth are attending the first day of the Waterwise School Gardener Training being held at Booragoon PS. The irrigation on the school oval has been tested. Soils and fertiliser use will be looked at next week.
01.01.2022 The results on the 2017 Annual Nutrient Survey for Local Government Authorities are in! We had 20 of the 30 LGAs in Perth complete the survey and encouragingly the results reveal that there was a moderate increase in the use of Best Management Practices (BMPs) in nutrient management by most LGAs. The report also revealed how much nitrogen and phosphorus is being applied in different areas by the LGA's. Overall 99 016 kg/year of nitrogen and 1 410 kg/year of phosphorus has ...been applied by the LGAs to a total of 1 952 ha.
