15.01.2022 TUESDAY TIP | Be creative in communicating your COVIDSafe protocols. While COVIDSafe protocols and communications are the new normal, particularly at events, it doesn’t mean the messaging formats should be ‘standard’ or ‘boring’. Think about how you can effectively engage with your community through creative messaging.... A recent study from the Technical University of Denmark suggested that our collective global attention span is narrowing because of the abundance of information presented to us. Presenting information in fun and engaging ways will ensure you capture your audience’s attention. We love these ‘physical distancing’ cushions from @wework as a great example of thinking outside the square!

15.01.2022 It’s COVIDSafe event time!

15.01.2022 We can’t wait to attend and present at #spaceseries this week! https://spaceseries.com/

13.01.2022 THROWBACK THURSDAY I In 2018 and 2019, we had the pleasure of event managing Graduations for Endeavour College of Natural Health, across Australia. While COVID thwarted plans this year, we are straight back into planning for 2021 and can't wait to bring these special days to life for graduands all over the country. We treat each event we work on, with the special attention they deserve. For graduands, this day is the culmination of years of blood, sweat, tears, study and sacr...ifice. To see the joy and pride on their face as well as the faces of their family and friends is priceless. (Note: Graduands become graduates, once the ceremony is completed). We're loving being back in planning mode for 2021 and can't wait to bring more special days to life.

13.01.2022 It's almost time to rock around the Christmas tree....... and we can't wait! We wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and very Happy New Year. We hope you can enjoy each and every ounce of festive fun and eat, drink, dance, laugh, be merry and most importantly, spend time with those closest to you. Now is the time for special time and memories - and we know how important that is after this year.... What can we say about 2020 that hasn't already been said...... It has thrown just about everything at us all but it has also shown the absolute strength of our amazing community. As another (completely crazy) year draws to a close, we would like to pay tribute to you. This year has been like no other and we have been in awe at the spirit and resolve of the community as we all adjusted and navigated. Everyone has experienced 2020 in their own way with their own challenges and triumphs - and we know this rollercoaster hasn't finished yet. To our amazing clients, thank you for the absolute joy and honour of working with you. We are so proud to call you our friends. To everyone who tuned into one of our webinars, read one of our blogs, liked one of our posts, read our e-news or just got in contact with us to say hello and see how we could help, THANK YOU. Connecting with so many new friends and contacts this year has been the silver lining we needed. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and if you are heading away on holidays, safe travels. #christmas #happynewyear #melbourneevents #events #communications #volunteering

08.01.2022 I IT’S (ALMOST) A WRAP ON MARCH | This month marks 12 months since everything changed. 12 months since we ran our last live event 12 months since we had to cancel or postpone nearly every planned event or project 12 months since the event, volunteer and communications landscape changed forever... 08.01.2022 Oh how we have missed being at live events! Being part of the Northern Horse Park Lakes & Craters Horse Trials on the weekend was an absolute joy - and we have never been so excited to put on a high vis vest! We’ve been working with @equestrianvictoria over the last couple of months to help develop their COVIDSafe Resources in line with government guidelines - and it has been incredibly rewarding because it means community sport is coming back! We have also had the pleasure o...f training and briefing organising committees from all over the state as they finally prepare to kick start their community sporting events again. To see the COVIDSafe protocols the Camperdown organising committee had put in place was impressive to say the least. They perfectly illustrated that you can not only run COVIDSafe events while still ensuring they are welcoming, fun and friendly - but you can also find opportunities from the crises and new ways to re-imagine your event. And what was it like being back? To help bump in, to experience the buzz and excitement, to see the pure joy on people’s faces and to even have event weary legs and feet again has nourished our soul. We didn’t realise quite how much we had missed events until we were back in the action! We can’t wait to help you reimagine your live events and bring them to life in this new world. #events #covidsafe #eventprofs #eventmanagement

08.01.2022 I THURSDAY TIP | Did you know that venues and events in Victoria must now use the Services Victoria app or a government API-linked digital system for all record keeping? Events, venues and organisations have a 28 day compliance amnesty. The Victorian Government QR code is free to set up, however you don’t get access to the data.... Therefore if you are checking in guests, they will need to check in with the QR code, as well as have their ticket scanned. If you need help with your COVIDSafe event planning, let us know. We are here to help and make sense of it for you. #events #melbourneevents #venues #qrcode #covidsafe

08.01.2022 I EASTER I Wishing you and your teams a safe and happy Easter break. This time last Easter, we were adjusting to the new world and preparing to spend our first significant milestone in lockdown. None of us really knew what the next 3, 6 or 12 months would hold......and we can also honestly say we don't know what this year holds. Of course, for some parts of Australia, this Easter will once again be different and we are thinking of you. Our hearts go out to the many events, fu...nctions and festivals who have once again found themselves with cancelled or postponed events at short notice. It is a stark reminder that the world can change at any moment. Wherever you are, and however you are spending the break, we hope you can take some time to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Of course we also hope that the Easter Bunny spoils you. Safe travels and enjoy a much deserved break #easter #events #easterbunny #engagement #eventprofs #communications #volunteerengagement

07.01.2022 We are here to help you prepare. Contact us today and kick start your planning, ready to take advantage of opportunities that will come in 2021.

07.01.2022 I WEBINAR I We can’t wait to deliver tomorrow’s webinar for @meetings_eventsau, ‘Why understanding our guests and customers will be more important than ever’. Understanding our guests and customers will be more important than ever as we plan our events and the event experience in a COVID safe world. While some live events can run again, is our audience ready to attend? While we are keen to bring face to face events back, how can we ensure our audience feel safe to come back? ...With COVIDSafe protocols and behaviours here to stay for the immediate future, what lessons can we learn from previous pandemics regarding the impact on our audience’s behaviour? Have the priorities of our audience changed? What is important to them when attending an event? How do we run COVID safe events while safeguarding the user experience? As event professionals, we have always thrived on the strategy and operational elements of events but in 2021, we will add more strings to our bow with our contingency, scenario planning and experience design taking a greater role as our roles evolve and transform. This 60 minute webinar will address these new questions and considerations as we re-imagine our event planning. You will learn insights and takeaways that you can implement straight away at your next event. : @meetings_eventsau

06.01.2022 Georgie Stayches, our Chief Engagement Officer, recently caught up with Byron Preston for a chat on the Journey Undiscovered podcast. Georgie talked about how clear vision and purpose, aligning your values with your work, backing yourself and taking a leap of faith has always been key for her. She also dived into the world of events as well as volunteer engagement at events.... Thank you Byron Preston for welcoming us as a guest, it was great to chat with you! Listen here to the full interview, along with other great interviews on the Journey Undiscovered podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com//journey-undiscove/id1525141144

06.01.2022 Our Chief Engagement Officer recently had the honour of MCing a virtual event for supporters of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. This virtual event was a chance for donors to find out more about how the RFDS has been adapting and adjusting during 2020 and the incredible work they continue to deliver with primary health care services as well as mobile patient transport. It was also a chance for them to hear directly from RFDS staff on the ‘frontline’, working with bushfire imp...acted communities as well as transporting suspected and confirmed COVID patients, and the difference their donations are making to this organisation. Thank you’s can be great but it is far more powerful to directly show people how their donations are helping change lives, by hearing from people on the frontline. If you need an MC or host for your upcoming events, let us know! We would love to help you engage with your supporters.

06.01.2022 This time of year is always peak hour for Annual General Meetings and it has been great to see how they have evolved in a virtual world. A shout out to the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia in Victoria for their fantastic online AGM this morning - Rising to the Challenge. Hosted by the wonderful Catriona Rowntree (an RFDS Ambassador), the AGM Forum was informative, heart warming and best of all, engaging.... Well done to the RFDS team!

05.01.2022 I SCENARIO PLANNING I Scenario planning has always been key in the world of events but it has stepped up a notch with COVID-19. What if your MC gets sick and has to isolate while they await their results? What if borders suddenly close and your speakers and delegates can no longer travel? What if one of your event team are deemed a close contact and need to quarantine?... What if your venue gets closed for a deep clean following a positive case? These are just some of the scenarios you need to plan for in a COVIDSafe world. We are working with clients to help step the many scenarios and not only plan for them but also develop ways to mitigate the risk. If you need help with scenario planning for your events and projects, let us know. We would love to help. [email protected] 03 8600 9660

02.01.2022 Contact us to see how an investment in our specialty knowledge will fetch you the best results.

02.01.2022 I THURSDAY TIP I As venue capacities fluctuate and the need for live streaming increases, ensure you truly understand your event foot print. Floor plans will be essential as AV foot prints (such as static cameras) increase and physical distancing remains. The floor plan for the same room in 2019 could be very different to 2021.... #reimaginingevents

01.01.2022 .....and after nine months we are finally back at an event! Melanie is on site this weekend as COVIDSafe Officer at the Camperdown Horse Trials. #events #covidsafe #covid #eventmanager #covidsafeofficer
