Every year, more than 4,400 amputations are carried out as a result of diabetes. We need to do more to reduce the impact of diabetes. Diabetes can affect the circulation and nerves in the feet, which can lead to wounds, ulceration and amputations.... Prevention is important for diabetic complications: Diabetes Australia guidelines suggest a Diabetic Foot Screening every 12 months, and if you notice any abnormalities with your feet you should come in to see your podiatrist!
