23.01.2022 Todays #Mahonysmile is Rachel This young lady had a Class III jaw pattern i.e. a severe underbite. The traditional approach would be to wait until she was older and then perform orthognathic surgery. We at Full Face Orthodontics, however, believe in early interceptive treatment for this type of bite. Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) in children is defined as a disorder of breathing during sleep characterized by prolonged partial upper airway obstruction and intermittent complete obstruction (obstructive apnea) that disrupts normal ventilation during sleep and normal sleep patterns. The previous treatment plan, offered by another clinician, was to pull the upper teeth back.
