20.01.2022 Well, there’s actually no single winner! Strength can have different applications for different muscles. However, these groups of muscles have been recognised among the strongest, according to the Library of Congress: -The external muscles of the eye -The gluteus maximus -The heart -The masseter (jaw) AND... -The tongue! Which strong muscle do you work the most? 16.01.2022 The piriformis muscle is a pear-shaped muscle found deep in the buttock. It attaches to the sacrum at one end and the femur at the other end. This muscle helps us turn our leg outwards when our legs are down and straight, like when we stand. Get this though When we bring our knees up towards the ceiling, the function of this muscle reverses and it becomes an inward rotator! When this muscle gets tight or injured, it can press on the sciatic nerve that passes close to it, le...ading to pain and possible tingling or numbness in the buttock and down the back of the thigh - a condition called ‘piriformis syndrome’.
