25.01.2022 The HK HT HG Owners Club of SA Inc is holding a special event:

22.01.2022 Who can sign the Log Books, Who does What There are two distinct roles, which can filled by the one person but are two separate functions Log Book Registrar, Club Log Book Officer they have a variety of names the member nominated by the club to ... take all appropriate measures in the issue, management and record keeping requirements for Scheme log books (pge 8 of the code) i.e. maintains a record of all log books issued to the members and submits a Club Log Book return to the Federation on a periodic basis. The club needs to notify only the Federation who is the filling this role in the Club. Log Book Validation Person, the role of this person is to validate the Log Book each membership year. The Log Book uses the wording Authorisation Officer this has no connection to a club’s Authorised Person as defined in the code. The club is not required to notify DPTI or the Federation of the appointments but need to minute the appointments.

20.01.2022 Log Books, there is a rumour running around that they are in short supply - WRONG The Federation has more than ample stock plus another batch on order Some clubs have placed orders which have not yet been filled - WHY - the clubs are currently not compliant with Code and until such time as they comply with the Code we cannot fill the order.

18.01.2022 *** Motorfest *** With the current uncertainty with the COVID-19 restrictions and the lead time required for some events the Motorfest Committee has after much discussion cancelled this year’s Motorfest Events

16.01.2022 Log Book Renewals Under the current circumstances, given restrictions on venue, meetings, et al the Federation suggests use the following format for Log Book renewals Payment of membership is done by EFT or cheque... Log Book is posted to club with a copy of the EFT or cheque and a stamped self-addressed envelope for return of the book If a new Log Book is required i.e. all membership years have been filled in check with the club to see if any additional cost is involved This process has worked for many years for clubs with remote members it’s simple and cost effective. One suggestion of the club has a large number of members break them up in Alphabet Order Blocks to even out the flow.

11.01.2022 Unregistered Vehicle permit for a LHD vehicles DPTI has updated policy to allow for a Unregistered Vehicle permit for a LHD vehicle which has a single trip exemption for the purpose of repairs. The exemption must be issued first and Vehicle Standards staff will need to be satisfied it is going to an actual mechanic’s shop not a private home, then an Unregistered Vehicle permit can be issued to drive the vehicle there and back. ... This advice was been only very recently circulated to Service SA so bear in mind it is new for everyone!

04.01.2022 Due to COVID-19 and the restrictions now in place on public gatherings, some associations may find it difficult to comply with the legislative requirement around holding Annual General Meetings. Where technology can be used, associations may wish to consider holding a 'virtual' AGM (either online, or via teleconference). Associations should remain mindful or good governance practices including accessibility and inclusiveness, appropriate record keeping and giving members re...asonable notice of meetings regardless of the form an AGM takes. As always, you should ensure that members are able to ask questions or raise concerns about the way a meeting is run. In some cases, for example where members can’t access the appropriate technology, it will be appropriate to instead defer the meeting. Subject to the above, CBS will not take action where a virtual AGM is held, but does not comply with the association’s rules due to requirements that meetings are held in person. In addition, if associations are unable to hold an AGM within the legislated timeframe, Consumer and Business Services will take no action where AGMs are postponed for up to 6 months. 03.01.2022 The Gawler Veteran, Vintage & Classic Vehicle Club invite you and your Club to participate in our sixth annual Gawler to Barossa Veteran & Vintage Run sponsored by Steinborner Automotive The 2021 event will run on Sunday April 11th and will finish for lunch at Seppeltsfield Winery! Keep the date clear! The run will take the same route as usual, but turn into the Seppeltsfield complex as directed by marshals. PLEASE NOTE: The Seppeltsfield management have kindly allowed us t...o pass directly in front of the beautiful grand old buildings as we enter the grounds, presenting a magnificent photo opportunity but please don’t stop! Digital photos of vehicles will be available later from the club, and you will be able to pose your vehicle for your own photos later in the day. Tea or coffee with a Portuguese Tart will be provided to each attendee at Seppeltsfield, and there are extra options for a cheese box and/or a tour with tastings available on the entry form. We look forward to seeing all of our past entrants and many more in 2021, so if you know anyone with a Veteran or Vintage vehicle of any kind, please encourage them to come along and enjoy what will be our best run yet! We would like to invite your club to include this run in their calendar for 2021 and encourage all Veteran and Vintage car owners to participate in one of the few runs designed specifically for our oldest vehicles by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. If you or your Club are not involved with Pre 1931 vehicles, consider organising a run to spectate along the route and join the festivities at Seppeltsfield Winery supporting the motoring history of our state. All welcome. Please find a flyer & entry form attached that you are welcome to distribute among your fellow enthusiasts. Some clips from last year’s run are also attached. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxFo38IsMAk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F1aI8EXp_8 Please direct any enquiries to Entries: David Prest: 0438 112 266 Email: [email protected]
