Australians buy more the...n 118,000 tonnes of plastic drink bottles a year. Now that is scary !! CALL OUT ..Australians have embraced recycling lets not waste our great work Reduce Reuse Recycle .. Use and recommend local Australian recycled content what can we do? Contact our local councillors to implement sustainable procurement utilise recycled products in their projects , landscaping , playgrounds safety ...GM Posts are ideal replacement for steel star pickets and hardwood landscaping stakes why are they not being used councils have specified steel and hardwood stakes in antiquated specifications. Only our councillors can make this change to utilise our waste to product. Waste to energy from Plastics say NO once it is burnt it's gone and the emissions are CO2! GM-Posts are not the only option for recycled content here is some more that are ready to go; Recycled aggregates in road construction, Recycled % plastic in playground equipment, Recycled Glass aggregate in concrete, Recycled Plastic in bollards , timber replacement, We all know that mulch is available from local councils use it, Recycled Plastic in panels , Recycled Plastic Commercial Decking , Recycled materials in park furniture , If every council purchased just 1000 GM posts this would recycle +300tonnes of plastic PET waste. The Australian Government will work with the community to plant 20 million trees by 2020 if hardwood stakes are used for of these how many tree would be needed? ~ 18,000 tonnes Using GM Post/stake reduces the waste by 3,500tonne!! and prevents hardwood going into stakes So how many 1 Litre PET bottles would that be 83mil to replace the hardwood stake. 15.01.2022 Recycling helps. But we all need to first look at reducing our addiction to plastic. My wife purchased new drink bottles for kids this year and excitedly showed me how good they were at keeping the drinks cold. I had a laugh and said yes a Thermos is a great idea as it was when my Grandparents first started taking there cups of tea to work in them! Cheap plastics made it more convenient to buy "disposable" cups. But I bet somewhere deep in Grandma's cupboard is the solution we have all forgotten about......
