For our friends who might not be familiar with NAIDOC, NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The beautiful 2020 National NAIDOC Poster, "Shape of Land", was designed by Tyrown Waigana, a Noongar and Saibai Islander man. The poster celebrates connection to country. 14.01.2022 My November20 hoodie is finished and I love it! This pattern is beautifully designed by @ankestrick and is size inclusive and unisex (her patterns are fantastic!) We stock the exact undyed yarn base used in this pattern (25% merino + 37% pima cotton + 38% alpaca; 100g, 400m, $19.50 each) and I dyed it with Magnolia Landscapes Dyes from @kraftkolour . This yarn is soft and cuddly and just a bit fuzzy and takes the dye very nicely. It is also very nice to knit with! The fabric ...is lightweight yet cozy - perfect for the cool mornings we have been having recently and will be great in the autumn and winter. I think I will probably be wearing it every day! I dyed up 4 full 100g skeins of yarn (as called for in the pattern) but only used 260g in total. We've got some exciting products coming soon to add to our range of FAST (Fibre Arts Shed Traceable) Fibre. One of the local farms we are working with here in Jilliby on the NSW Central Coast is @irislodgealpacas (home of Breakfast with Alpacas!) We are still working on the fibre, but I recently had a chance to spin... up some of the black alpaca roving from a recent batch from Iris Lodge Alpacas and crochet up this little Alpaca stuffed toy.
