25.01.2022 *******Congratulations to Lochie Stamp-williams.. You are the winner of our Epoxy Resin Gift pack!!!! You will get a private message sent to you to arrange pick up.

25.01.2022 Hi Everyone, its an old post but a good one! As every Summer we get the same inquiries about re-coating and refurbishing pools. Before the real heat of Summer sets in and everyone wants to come round and use the pool, now would be the best time to start. We do supply the products for pool repairs etc, depending on the surface of your pool you may need to resurface it with Chop Strand Mat and Vinylester Resin before you re-coat it with a pool grade Topcoat?... I have included a photo of the Polyester pigments we currently stock that can be added to Natural Gelgoats and Flowcoats/Topcoats to do small repairs to cracks and chips in the Gelcoat. Also a colour chart of the current colours we can order in specifically for you if you are doing a full re-coat. They are supplied in 25kg pails in a Brushing and a Spraying option and would be a custom order for you. As a guide, approximately 500-700gm/m of Topcoat mixture will give the required thickness when evenly applied to a 0.5-0.6mm wet film thickness. If you need any other info or have any queries please give us a call or ping us an email.

21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, An every increasing assumption is that the more resin you mix the longer it will take to Dry??? The first thing is, two part resins dont "Dry" they CURE! In general the larger the mix quantities, the bigger the chemical reaction will be therefore the quicker it will cure. The smaller the mix, the smaller the reaction, the longer it takes to cure.... Also the ambient temperature has A LOT to do with its cure schedule. The hotter it is the quicker it cures, in fact for every 10C hotter than the schedule listed on the data, it will Halve the pot life!!! Scary stuff if you are already using a fast hardener left over from winter in 35C! Please make sure you read up on the data or please give us a call and we would be happy to help you out with any info you require on our products. Have fun with plastics.

We can also supply resins to fill features and cracks in timber flooring, burls, tables and other furniture as well as resins and pigments for Resin Art and jewellery. Moulding silicone rubbers and fast casting urethanes. Food grade and industrial. Glow in the dark powders as well as fluro and pearl powders to achieve awesome resin effects. Plus all the tooling and accessories to get the job done. Dont forget we are even open on Saturdays. Have an awesome weekend.

18.01.2022 Six10 Thickened Epoxy Adhesive combines the strength and reliability and excellent physical properties of a two-part WEST SYSTEM Epoxy with point-and-shoot convenience. The self-metering coaxial 190ml cartridge dispenses a gap-filling structural epoxy that bonds tenaciously to wood, metals, fiberglass and concrete. The tube comes with a static mixer that lets you lay down a bead of thickened epoxy with any standard caulking gun. Six10s shear thinning properties make it thi...nner as its worked. It can be easily tooled into a non-sagging fillet or used to wet out light to moderate reinforcing fabrics like fiberglass. The hardener provides a long open time but has fast thru-cure. Six10 stays workable in the static mixer for 42 minutes, making it practical for long or complicated assemblies. Each tube of Six10 comes equipped with a static mixing wand. Additional static mixing wands are available in packs of 2. Each Six10 cartridge contains 190mls. Please feel free to contact us for more info or click the link below for a short video on Six10. https://www.youtube.com/watch

15.01.2022 Testing out a New product that we are looking into adding to our range. It is a Clear Casting Epoxy Resin system that is designed to be used when casting BULK amounts of resin. Whether it be Block resin casts or incorporating other mediums such as timber, stone, shells etc. Although it is designed to be used as clear, we are also testing it with one of our powder pigments. This New system has a very long open time which allows bubbles to come out of the resin before curing.... It is not yet a stocked item, however we do hope to have this on our shelves shortly. If you are interested in the Clear Casting Epoxy please send us an email and we would be happy to notify you when it has come in and ready for sale.

14.01.2022 Add a little creative touch to a cheese board by coating the handles with EnviroTex Lite and PearlEx powders.

12.01.2022 One of our latest samples using our FR1510 Clear Casting Epoxy Resin and a transparent Blue Dye and concrete mixed cast. The "short version" of the casting process; 1. Make box mould using Laminex and screw together 2. Run plasticine up joins to stop leaks... 3. Apply Mould release wax or release agent to stop cast from sticking to mould 4. Cast quick dry cement/concrete into box mould - let set 5. Vacuum out any concrete dust 6. Mix required resin/hardener and pore over set concrete and allow to cure 7. Pull out of mould, sand cut and polish to desired surface. As another option you could also finish the surface off by coating with a clear epoxy resin for a "super" High gloss finish! We suggest our EnviroTex Lite.

12.01.2022 New stocks of PearlEx Powder pigments now in store. Great for adding feature colours to resins when casting, coating and filling.

03.01.2022 A fibreglassing legend I am not! But I plastic welded up a plug to make a guage pod which turned out pretty reasonable after a bit of lovin from the linishing ...belt. The issue is my dash sits much deeper than what the cover was designed for so it needs to come forward so the cover fits the tank properly. Then I broke the fucken thing ! Anyway, not beaten yet but Ive pulled the pin for the day and will take some time to think about it but I reckon itll just need to be remodelled a bit. Big thanks to Fibreglass & Resin Sales in Kewdale, WA for handing out heaps of advice and also taking the opportunity to not sell me something I thought I needed but didnt.

02.01.2022 Why not Mould it and Make it? Although EasyMold Silicone Moulding Putty is fantastic for resin casting it also happens to be FOOD GRADE!!! So not only can you u...se it to make resin moulds BUT you can also use it to make moulds to be used in the kitchen. It can withstand cooking up to 200C. Is easy to use. And great for Icing moulds & Cake Decorating, Chocolate moulds, clay and Resin Jewellery and much much more. Then you have the Mould Release & Conditioner perfect when casting resins. This product conditions the mould and helps release the resin casts from the mould without sticking. Also shown in the photo is the EnviroTex Jewellery resin kits. These come in two kit sizes great to get you started or if you are just doing small bits and pieces and dont need too bigger quantities. All of these products are currently in store, if you have any queries or wish to see more samples, by all means pop into the shop and we would be happy to help you out. :)

02.01.2022 NEW PearlEx powder pigments now in store.

We will endeavour to notify you as soon as it comes into Australia and is available in store.

01.01.2022 If you cant find an Esky to suit your specific dimensions, why not Build your Own? Building eskys or cooler boxes, isnt real difficult, but like all things the second and third one is easier! The basic requirement for eskys is the sheet foam stock, there are two different common types 1) Styrene foam / Styrofoam this is usually white 2) Polyurethane foam, light brown or green. From an insulation point of view the PU is about 4 times better than Styrofoam, so 25mm thick sh...eet PU will equal about a 100ml thick of Styrofoam. For eskys PU is much better it also allows you to use polyester resin (polyester dissolves Styrofoam!). For eskys up to 600mm long x 400mm wide x 400mm deep 25mm PU is fine, when they get bigger than that you need to think about 50mm thick, yes you get better insulation but its more for structural strength. Once you decide on the size of the esky, plus the foam you wish to use, then you can work out the laminate to go with that best suits the job. If this is a project you wish to know more about, please give us a call, ping us an email or pop into the shop to discuss.

01.01.2022 Hi Everyone, As it is "Melt your skin" Hot, we strongly advise you to either work early in the morning before it reaches 35C or put off the job until these 40C plus days end. In fact most resin manufacturers do not recommend using their products above 35C anyways. If however you have NO choice but to work in these temperatures some of the following hints may help;... * Work early in the morning before it gets hot as listed above - IDEAL * ONLY If using Polyester Resins can you add less MEKP catalyst to help slow down the pot life. (though it still wont be much difference) - Do NOT alter mix ratios for Epoxy resin!!! * The night before half fill a container with water and freeze overnight. Then when you are ready to do the job, place your mixing container in on top of the ice and this should give you a few more minutes working time. (Again not much more than that) * Mix resin in plastic containers instead of glass jars, coffee cups or tin cans as they will conduct less heat. (these containers we dont recommend anyways) * A bigger flatter container is better than a small compact container, it will spread out the mix slowing down the pot exothermic reaction * Lots of smaller mixes rather than one big mix creates less exotherm, thus slowing down the pot life * Get your mixed product out of the mixing container and flat out onto the job, again slows down the reaction Now all of these hints will not give you a massive extended pot life, however may just help out enough to get the job done? If all else fails, find the nearest Air conditioned room, sit back and relax in the cool!
