25.01.2022 After six long months, our little bonus woven labels are finally back!! Woven in Denmark from 100% cotton and Oeko Tex certified, one of these little beauties goes out with every online order as a little thank you (happy to give one to instore visitors too, just ask if you’d like one with your purchase ). While waiting for these, we’ve been sending out Soak samples or fabric pieces suitable for mask making, always nice to get a little treat when opening a package, methinks! It’s a bit hard to read in the pic but front of card reads ‘Fibresmith: one who crafts natural fibre textiles or yarn into items that are beautiful, meaningful and/or useful’ #iamafibresmith

We’re restocked on everything (yes, including the Cuff Top and Cuff Dress you’ve been waiting for ) and are super pleased to welcome the new addition Oversized Shirt to the mix. Available in two size ranges, this is a classic button up with a comfy, oversized fit, perfect to wear as a tunic or lengthen to a dress. 21.01.2022 I’ve just added this gorgeous collection of pinstripe cotton knits to our online shop, beautifully soft and with 5% spandex for great recovery, these are perfect for tees, undies, wrap dresses, etc. I’ve got a metre of the Khaki (second pic) washed up and ready, debating between a tee and some Assembly Line PJ Shorts... just might need to make both!

14.01.2022 I’ve been sitting on the fence for months, trying to decide which dress pattern I want to use with this amazing Japanese cotton/linen tartan. I’m leaning towards a sleeveless Hinterland but I need to trace out a smaller size and my laziness is making me swing back to the Camber, which I’ve got ready to go... I know both will be great in the fabric and good for layering in cooler weather... Gah, decisions! #hinterlanddress #camberset

08.01.2022 So, fellow Victorians, how’s everybody going in lockdown? Aside from sending out a big bundle of orders (thanks, folks!), I have done very little. Finally cast on an 8ply version of the #verticesunite shawl after talking about it for 8 months and decided I needed a top out of the Khaki and shorts out of the Black knit that I showed last post - fabric has been washed, maybe this afternoon I’ll get to the cutting. I think the not knowing whether or not the lockdown will be extended is adding to the ennui but either way, Fibresmith will have you covered for Local Pickups starting Thursday. Either we’ll be open and you can pop in or we’ll be online only with pickups available between 10am and 2pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday

03.01.2022 Our most beautiful, jet black Japanese seersucker is finally back in stock - and it brought an ivory friend!! We’ve been waiting (not so) patiently for this one to come back and made sure to order LOTS so we don’t sell out as quickly as last time Polly (@nuno_studio on Instagram) has made the most gorgeous dress with this one, it’s the third photo in her feed currently and, besides looking fabulous on her, really shows off the features of this cotton perfectly! I’m thinking I might need a black seersucker #remytop or a #mmflorencetop ... of course another #wikstenshifttop could never be a bad idea either...
