24.01.2022 We have a guided wildflower walk tomorrow 13th September, 2020 starting at 9am at Willmett reserve, Goolwa Beach (WIllmett road) where we will then walk through Walter Newell Reserve, Goolwa and some other nearby bushland areas. Orchids should be out and the rain should bring out the birds. Might see you then.

23.01.2022 `Maintaining community momentum for a cleaner Coorong' is one of our current projects on the Fleurieu coastline. This project will undertake a dedicated marine debris clean-up with the Port Elliot Primary Schoolalong their local coastline for the 3rd year in a row this November and will engage 120 upper primary students in taking hands on action for their coast and marine environment. They will contribute data to the Ocean Conservancy worldwide dataset of marine debris using ...the CleanSwell App to add in details of Marco sized debris collected. Feedback from previous years demonstrates the students, teachers and participating parents learn lots from the day’s activities and carry out follow up actions at school and home to reduce waste entering our environment. This project will also support numerous Goolwa coastcare working bees to undertake collection of rubbish on our sites and managing remnant coastal vegetation. Funding support has been provided by Coca-Cola Australia Foundation and Landcare Aust for this project with sponsorship support provided by Goolwa to Wellington Local Action Planning Association Inc. 20.01.2022 We had a productive working bee at Bradford reserve pulling Gazania, Euphorbia, wild turnip and some Aloe. This Allocasuarina verticillata (Drooping she-oak) woodland is really the only public bushland reserve in Goolwa to support a dominant mid-storey consisting of Dodonea viscosa ssp spatulata (Sticky hop bush). Some orchids were out and many more are on their way. We are very lucky to have this rare pocket of flora and fauna right in Goolwa Beach. Goolwa Beach, South Australia Alexandrina Council Thanks all.

16.01.2022 We have a working bee tomorrow 4th October, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. starting at the corner of Golfview road and Keightly Avenue, Goolwa Beach where we will be heading to some nearby private bushland to undertake weeding. 0418828949 New volunteers welcome

16.01.2022 A group of 10 enjoyed a 4km guided wildflower walk this morning through a local Goolwa reserve (Walter Newell Reserve) and some terrific private bushland areas. It was so nice to see the numerous orchids, daisy, lilies and Yakkas in flower and accompanied by lots of birds. About 14 mm of rain fell last night

14.01.2022 We are rapt to have received $8550 to continue our restoration efforts across the Goolwa Dunes, Tokuremoar Reserve and an Alexandrina Council Reserve on Sir Richard Peninsula thanks to a grassroots grant from the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board. The funds will allow us to continue receiving support from a professional weed control contractor to focus on larger issues outside of our scope, so that we can follow in behind and undertake the essential hand weeding follow up work over our 14 Goolwa Coastcare volunteer working bees soon to be scheduled for 2021. Continued pressure will be applied to Gazania, Boxthorn, Scabiousa, Freshia, Bridal creeper, *Acacia cyclops, Victorian tea-tree, Boneseed, Weeping White broom and many other weeds which negatively effect the health and function of our local coastal ecosystems

12.01.2022 We have a working bee this Sunday 15th of November 2020 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. commencing at the Goolwa Beach Carpark.
