11.01.2022 Latin in origin, the word fidelis means faithful, and it has served as a slogan for many families and entities in many countries since the 16th century, including the United States Marines Motto, Semper Fidelis. Founded in 2009 by Dr. Charles Jetann, FSE was formed to focus on faithfully satisfying client requirements for structural consulting engineering services. Since inception, FSEs client base and portfolio of projects has developed well and is growing successful...Continue reading

10.01.2022 It has been way too long since we've posted anything. Years! It's about time we shared something new. FSE is grateful to have been the project structural engineer with NICLIN Group's 7-Eleveven development with Rogerscorp. NICLIN's Linkedin post reads: https://www.linkedin.com/company/niclin-group/... Niclin Group is developing a strong reputation in the fuel sector. We recently completed a 7Eleven service station at Hillcrest in Brisbane six weeks ahead of schedule. Both the client and 7Eleven were pleased with both the process and the end result. The 7Eleven Lead Project Manager wrote to the team, "Thanks to the team for a smooth project at Hillcrest. Specifically, as the end-user tenant, the coordination of the design team through to delivery on site and execution by Andrew and David has been well received by our team enabling a smooth final delivery to operations and site opening."

08.01.2022 Newstead Central - Stages 2 & 3 - Laguna and St Tropez METRO Property Development's Newstead Central - Stages 2 & 3 towers named Laguna and St Tropez respectively are currently under construction at the hands of Hutchinson Builders. Architecturally designed by COX Rayner, Laguna and St Tropez will share their site with five towers upon final completion of all stages. As the principal structural engineer on the project, FSE has collaborated and coordinated with Hutchinson and... COX to to arrive at an efficient solution that consider's constructability and performance. The structural analysis and design of walls and columns for gravity, wind, earthquake and robustness load combinations was conducted using RAM Structural System (RSS). The structual analysis model was assembled by stacking the individula RAM Concept (CPT) floor plate models. After the building was analysed in RSS, the Level-4 transfer podium was exported from RSS and imported into CPT with all of the transfer loads applied and load combinations defined for detailed design of the post-tensioning tendons and conventional reinforcement. One of the many engineering challenges, including partial top-down construction, was that the tower loads from the future Stages 4 & 5 had to be accounted for in the design of the Level-4 transfer as well as the associated walls, columns and piles that needed to be built for Laguna and St Tropez. This meant that a complete analysis of all four buildings was necessary. Using the stare-of-the-art in structural engineering software such as RSS and CPT facilitated itteritave analyes and design with agililty. The directors of fidelis structural engineering extend their gratitude to Hutchinson Builders for providing us with the opportunity to be involved with them and their entire team on this special METRO project. 07.01.2022 FSE is proud of its involvement as the structural engineer for the design of an innovative segmental anchored waler system for the retention of 1 WIlliam Street with TEAM Rock Anchors and Mainland Civil Contractors. Anchor assemblies on the Gardens Point Road side of the excavation had to be on a 60deg declination from horizontal in order to strike competent rock and avoid the footings and pilons of the Riverside Expressway and achieve loads aproaching 180 Tonnes on two rows at 2.4m horizontal centres.

07.01.2022 First day of the World Engineers Convention in Melbourne. So far, fantastic! Sustainability, innovation, smart cities, environmental heath, Women in Engineering, etc.... I'm reminded we engineers are in an inspiring field important for our community's and planet's future for generations to come.

06.01.2022 FSE is grateful to Roman Contractors for the opportunity to be involved with this special project. The new boardwalks and lookouts for the New South Wales National Park Service at Fisherman's Point and Wategos Beach in Byron Bay will endure a century or longer with the use of composite extrusion, stainless steel and engineered timber. Don't miss Julian Rocks!
