25.01.2022 Thank you everyone that PMed me regarding Freya she has found her forever home. Coonmagic Freya available to approved home Pm for further information. She's also a talker and a smoocher. I don't normally suggest female as Show Alters but she would make a great show spey. She loves people and enjoys the shows, but more importantly just want her to go to a great home.

23.01.2022 This post is in relationship to the previous post regarding keeping breeding cats in cages. Here is a video of my setup my cats have 24/7 access to a large outside area, a large cat proof paddock and also access to my lounge room via a cat door. My stud boys have their own enclosure with tunnels to towers that go up into a tree or to a corner of my cat paddock. My encloses are larger then a lot of bedrooms and suit our climate much better then keeping them in a room in the ho...use. As far as i am concerned a room in a house is worse then one of my enclosures, my cats enjoy the sun, the breeze and see alot of different things to simulate them. My queens are moved into breeding cages a week before their kitten are due to make sure they are relaxed and comfotable before the due date. This is a room in the house away from the other cats where the mothers needs peace and quiet. Once the kittens are mobile and exploring they are brought out to experienve household noises and general every day life. They can go outside into the cat area but not into the cat paddock until they are much older. My set up has been designed to give the cats as much freedom as possible within the restraints of a breeding program. Male kittens run free with the other house cats until they start thinking about girls, then they are giving an enclosure with either a tunnel to a tree, cat yard or access to a cat wheel. I have been told that some european breeders would not sell me cats because i keep my cats in cages. Which i find completely ridicoulous. We cant keep our cats in rooms unless the room is airconiditioned which i dont believe in keeping cats in aircon all the time. People need to be aware of what is required in different parts of the world here in Australia cage enclosures are the best way to make sure the cats are safe and comfotable. I spend alot of my day outside so the cats follow me around either thru tunnel or in the paadock. I feel my cats have a great life and are very much apart of my family To make a statement breeders should not use cages is ridicilous.

20.01.2022 After such an awful day yesterday today sure made up for it. I took three cats to the QICC show at Beerwah A kitten a adult and an alter. Thank you Julie Walk...er and all her helpers it was a well run show and we got away reasonably early . It was a small show but we had quality not quantity. Was very proud of Stewies first born. SUPREME WAS AWARDED ON A POINTS BASES AND ALTHOUGH STEWIE AND SASSANACH HAD BOTH WON 3 BEST IN SHOWS EACH SASSANACH WAS UP AGAINST MORE KITTENS SO HE WAS ALSO AWARDED SUPREME LONGHAIR EXHIBIT. Not bad for his first show had lots of great comments from all three judges. Really looking forward to showing this young man.

17.01.2022 I have had a few enquries over the last few months for kittens from peoples that have approached other breeders and for one reason or another have been unhappy with the response or the way they have been treated. As alot of people know i am not one to just sit back and watch. I guess i love this breed so much and feel devastated with what i am seeing and feel i just cant sit back and watch anymore without commenting. 16.01.2022 Price of Maine Coons kitten please be aware of what you are paying for. Firstly the colour of your Maine Coons or how many toes it has should not be more expen...sive then one of a different colour or one with a normal number of toes. Breeders charging more ...........well just ask your self why. There can be a difference between males and females as most people want males because of size. 4 levels in my opinion (although there are degrees in between these 4) and the price should reflect this unfortunately most people just want a particular colour or a big cat so will pay what ever regardless of what level the breeder is at. Levels 1-3 in my opinion are breeding pets which I don't have a problem with but the price of the kitten should reflect this. Level 4 are breeders that are endeavoring to improve the breed. Are showing their cats on a regular basis to ensure they conform to the breed standard. Ultra sounding and DNA testing their breeding cats. Ensuring kittens are desexed, vaccinated and chipped before going to new homes. These breeders do not make a profit from kitten sales if anything need to use alot of their own money to support their passion. 95% of kittens bred by these breeders are sold to pet home (lucky people) Level 3 Breeder doesn't show, DNA tests and Ultra sounds the kittens parents. Desex, vaccinate and micro-chip kittens Level 2 Breeder doesn't show, DNA tests but doesn't ultra sound. Desex, vaccinate and micro-chip kittens Level 1 Breeder doesn't show, doesn't do any health checks. Doesn't desex, doesn't vaccinate, doesn't micro chip kitten (Please note I don't know many breeders at this level in Maine Coons but they do exist in other breeds) The real problem we have in the breed is everyone wants a kitten yesterday. There is a bigger demand then supply, so the breeders doing the wrong things are still selling kittens. Please also remember your new kitten is to become a member of your family. When you decided to start a family you normally have to wait at least 9 months so why do you HAVE to get a new kitten tomorrow. Think about it.

We strive to produce gentle Giants that are sound in mind and body. Our purpose for breeding is to improve the breed and strive to produce the ultimate Maine coon. All our cats are shown so they can be assessed on a regular basis by Local, interstate and International Judges against... the breed standard. This ensure we are breeding to type which our show results shows we are on track. Temperament is our number one priority, if I can't show a cat I won't breed with it to ensure we are breeding show temperaments. With these goals in mind our end produce is a Large well adjusted cat, that meets the breed standard, has a temperament to die for, the proof is here to see. Quality breeds quality.
