25.01.2022 Finally, we see some light at the end of the tunnel. Restrictions are being lifted slowly and we are getting closer to being back to normal. Jackie and I will continue to work from our home office for now and will reassess over the coming week or so. Having said that it is business as usual. If you need us, feel free to call. 21.01.2022 I am currently working on a client file for a client who has Australian Super. In an attempt to show them how much their super has dropped I have just contacted Australian Super to obtain the balance. Unfortunately, Australian Super are "refusing" to take calls at this time unless they deem them to be urgent in nature. How did they determine if it was an urgent call??? I pressed 3 for Financial Adviser on their automated system. The system told me they are refusing calls and it hung up on me. Having a Financial Adviser who is on your side, working with you has never been more important than now. Industry Funds say a lot of the right things, but their actions show they dont quite mean them all Im afraid.

Hostplus "independent valuers" have not disclosed exactly why, or for that matter how, but they have been able to increase the value of unlisted property holding just in the nick of time for the end of the financial year. As the article says, this will have a flow on of assisting with inflows of future investment based on the newer, higher returns they can now quote, as well as assist the management team achieve their targets and thus bonuses. Very convenient timing you might say.

08.01.2022 Warning........I am going to get into MASSIVE trouble for this post......and I dont care As you may know we are moving office. As part of that process Jackie has been calling all of our clients individually to let them know the new contact details. Today was a show stopper. She called an 86 year old man, who lives aboiut 45 minutes away and started with the usual....."Hello Ted, how are you going....." but Ted wasnt going very well, he had cut his foot over 4 hours ago, and c...ouldnt stop the bleeding. Ted is on blood thinners so it was potentially a big problem, and he also had no family he could call...... Jackie jumps in the car, and drives over to him. He has left a trail of blood all through the house, he is sitting in the bathroom trying to stop the flow with toilet paper.....the 6th roll. She cleans it, bandages it, puts him up in his bed, elevates it to help slwo the bleeding, and sits there talking to him for over an hour while she makes sure it has stopped. Apparently she knows as much about his family now as he does. Oh and before she left.......she mopped up all of the blood from the floor..... So I just want everyone to know what I already know. This woman is amazing. She could have just called an Ambulance, but she went and made sure he was ok, and made a difference in his life. I love you Jackie.
