Not only is it used in the production of some of the worlds great rose’s, it has also seen a resurgence in South Africa, where charming soft reds are being made from incredible old vineyards. 20.01.2022 A very exciting book release is taking place this Tuesday. This book is titled ‘Stalin’s Wine Cellar’ and was penned by the talented Australian author John Baker. Based on true events, it tells the amazing story of two Australians attempting to organise the sale of Joseph Stalin’s multimillion-dollar wine cellar in Georgia. Our friends @roaring_stories here in Balmain are hosting an event to mark the release next Tuesday evening, where the author himself will be discussing th...e book. Although the number of seats to the event are limited, it will also be streamed via Roaring Stories’ Facebook page. Full details can be found at https://www.roaringstories.com.au//john-baker-live-stalin/ We also wanted to do our bit to mark this event, so have put together an amazing three-pack of wines from a selection of wine areas including Georgia. The book also focuses on Sauternes in the Bordeaux region of France, one of the most renowned wine regions of the world, so we have included a gorgeous 375 ml bottle of Sauternes in the pack. The three-pack will include the following wines, marked to a very special price of $125, down from $150, until Fathers Day. 2017 Pheasant’s Tears Rkatsiteli, Georgia 2018 Makaridze Winery Aladasturi, Georgia 2015 Carmes De Rieussec Sauternes 375ml, France Tasting notes will also be included with the pack. 13.01.2022 Nice day for deliveries, which included this gorgeous release from Eric Bordelet. Bordelet makes some of the finest French ciders, but his 2010 Mistelle de Pommes a Sydre is made by adding Calvados to his fresh apple must to prevent fermentation. He then ages it for over a decade in barrel, resulting in a highly complex and delicious mistelle.
