13.01.2022 The Field Naturalist society of South Australia is hosting its annual Manning reserve Walk and weed. Its going to be great weather on the weekend so come out and visit Manning reserve, just out of Willunga. Talk with knowledgeable naturalists and Its the perfect time to spot some orchids.
13.01.2022 Peter Bird was this years recipient of the Field Naruralists Conservation Award. A well deserved winner. He gave a fascinating talk on his life as a field naturalust and his work on his "second home" at Waite Conservation Park.

07.01.2022 The Botany Club Excursion today had a small turn out, but was a great experience. Nothing was flowering yet and Parts of the area was burnt in the Sampson Flat fires, that combined with the long dry spell and the hot days this summer has left some of the vegetation looking a bit sad. We also spotted a few birds and some lizard eggs.

05.01.2022 Topa gave a cracker of a talk last night. Despite the project not going to plan, due to small sample sizes and some of the initial assumptions she gave information observations about the pitfalls or measuring the impact of plastics and metaloids in short tailed shearwaters. One of the important observations to come out of the study is that different concentrations of metaloids can be found in different parts of the liver.

04.01.2022 Last night was our last meeting for the year, where members are invited to share their stories and pictures from the past year. It was great to hear stories about encounters with frogs, lizards, wombats and spiders.
