24.01.2022 So great to see the landscaping near completion at our Moonee Valley Tote Building Redevelopment Project. Here’s a tender of our new north pavilion, due for completion in 2021. . . #foa #fieldofficearchitecture
24.01.2022 Its business as usual as far as the practice is concerned, but weve made a couple of small changes. @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
23.01.2022 Thrilled to have two projects as a finalist in this year’s #sustainabilityawards2020, Phoenix House at Grampians, and Brunswick East House.
23.01.2022 Some rammed earth studies for new project. Loving playing around with the proportions and the resultant different light angles. Looking forward to@fleshing our further. Super fun.
23.01.2022 Halfway through Stage 4 lockdowns, and it is mostly business as usual. We've all been working from home, which weve all been doing on and off for the best part of 5 months. I feel like weve got it down to a pretty seamless transition now, and our work output has been genuinely free-flowing and productive. However, there are plenty of times that we do miss the day to day interactions. There is something about being with the team in the studio, the face to face conversations,... and the accidental moments of design inspiration. I also love seeing our city full of life and bustling with activity we hope these times return soon. We offer our best wishes to everyone in this difficult time, particularly those in Melbourne, and hope that you and your families remain healthy and safe. We have a huge amount of empathy for those whose industries and businesses are suffering as a result. Of course, we are all in this together and if there are things that we can do to help out, please feel free to get in touch Looking forward to seeing our studio soon - C

We are keen to promote further leading sustainable developments that would meet zero carbon standards.... 17.01.2022 A view through the cellar towards the base of the stairs in our Toorak House project. Formerly an unused basement level, we created a series of spaces including the cellar, gym and film room, along with the adjacent garage. Skylight from level 4 brings light through the central stair light well, and the spotted gum ceiling brings warmth and tactility to this space. . 17.01.2022 Late last year we submitted an entry into the Barangaroo Design Competition for a new public pavilion along the Barangaroo wharf edge. Unfortunately we did not win, but there were some wonderful entries and we were proud of our submission. Will share some more about it on our site soon but here’s a snapshot. - A place for story telling. ... The pavilion is a poetic and contemporary interpretation of the ancient campfire setting, which on any given night, once filled this coastline. Fire has always been the centre of ritual, ceremony and storytelling. Enclosed by tall slender elements which are inspired by the local native redgum, who’s tall barkless trunks were the traditional backdrop to this area, the pavilion has been designed as a gathering and ceremonial space, centred around a circular focal point which punches through and connects with the sky above. #barangaroo #barangaroopavilion #barangaroodesigncompetition
16.01.2022 Had a thrill yesterday filming a podcast on site for the wonderful @thedesignemotive with @winterarchitecture where we discussed, amongst other things, collaborations in general, how we ended up collaborating on this project, and whos the better architect (just kidding!). Excuse the shorts... 38 degrees!

12.01.2022 Brunswick East House. The quiet, simple palette of materials reflects the brief of the project which called for a comfortable retreat from the density and pace of the local area, along with the open floor plan and ample sunlight. An operable timber screen to level one separates the master bathroom from the courtyard below, and along with privacy, provides a warmth to the room and surrounds. 12.01.2022 A sneak peak at our Brunwick East House. A little about the project: This tiny Victorian miners cottage in the Melbourne inner-city suburb of Brunswick East has been transformed by much-needed additions and alterations which included a new second level and generous living spaces.... Finding a dwelling of this era with exactly no meaningful changes over its century-old existence is extremely rare, and the client, a growing young family were looking for a calm, modest extension that takes the house firmly into the comforts of todays expectations (and replace the external bathrooms and outhouse). 01.01.2022 Last week our MVRC Tote Redevelopment project reached its lockup milestone. With the current circumstances, the project has been temporarily placed on hold, but will come back to life sometime early in the new year, with the interiors due for completion by August 2021. This new restaurant and bar which includes the major alterations to the historic 1931 built Tote building, along with a new north pavilion and part of a new larger park promises to be a cracker. Cant wait to see it eventuate. With @mitchellandeades and @tandembuilding . . #foa #fieldofficearchitecture @ Moonee Valley Racing Club
