25.01.2022 The challenge we need to accept is to never give up the hard work of dismantling the beliefs and systems that hurt women. Things like identifying the ways the patriarchy tells us to make ourselves smaller, quieter and poorer - and saying no to those things. Calling out inequality and misogyny when we see it - and expecting the men in our lives to do the same. ... Supporting initiatives to empower and protect women, financially and with our time. Not accepting that the horrifying number of women being hurt and killed by men is ok and just part of life. Rejecting the idea that the most important thing about us is how we look and what we weigh. Social media challenges come and go, but the work that we do every day within ourselves and in the community goes on until we have achieved equality. #ChallengeAccepted

25.01.2022 There's a good chance you're carrying around a bunch of BS ideas about money and success, thanks to being marinated in the patriarchy our whole lives. The good news is, if you listen very carefully you can hear these lies and call them out. Check out my new post to see how.

19.01.2022 A-Z of Investing and it's D for Diversification. Why does Facebook just always choose the ugliest stills of me? Anyway you know me, like Iggy Azalea so eloquently put it: "first things first I'm the realest." So enjoy my faces.

15.01.2022 I think one of the biggest fears women have about ending a marriage is the failure. I see women who heap guilt and shame on themselves for ‘failing’ at this thing that society has told us is the most important thing we will ever do. Divorce is hard and painful. So I've been collecting advice and words of wisdom to share. Check it out. https://buff.ly/3hCTU4S

12.01.2022 The rules of investing don't change. And they matter even more in a crisis. New post here: https://buff.ly/2yZrrVI
12.01.2022 I’m not against investing in property altogether. What I am against is the reckless abandon with which many Aussies approach this asset class, and the absolute trash that passes as ‘education’ or ‘information’ about it. Don't get sucked in by the glossy brochures and don't believe the hype. Do your research and do it properly. ... New post here: https://buff.ly/3d6Km0k
12.01.2022 Had a lot of thoughts about the link between women, justice, equality and money when I was at the women's #march4justice today. So I thought I should share them with you. https://fiercegirlfinance.com.au//money-is-power-thats-wh/ #womenandmoney #fiercegirlfinance #March4Justice
11.01.2022 "Don’t let shame or embarrassment get in the way of taking action. "People don’t talk about their finances openly, and it means we sometimes get the wrong idea. We see other people’s lives and feel like they’re doing so much better than us." I had a bit of a hand in bringing this true story to life. Read it for some inspiration and to appreciate the awesome work that my finance-soul-sister Rachel at Flourix Wealth is doing. ... https://www.mamamia.com.au/financial-advisor-advice/

11.01.2022 I wanted to talk about the long-term nature of share investing, so I made a chart with emojis. Maybe I'm a creative genius, maybe not. You be the judge. https://fiercegirlfinance.com.au//feeling-fomo-thinking-y/

08.01.2022 I wrote this note in my phone the other day with no further context, so I can’t remember what sparked it. But it’s a about breaking routines and discovering what’s on the other side of that. Read my latest post for more. https://buff.ly/2UYS71F

07.01.2022 Listen up ladies! I'm going to drop some learning on you and it's an important read. Be careful if something is offering you higher interest than a bank account - chances are, it's not a bank account. Which is fine, as long as you understand what you're investing in. https://fiercegirlfinance.com.au//why-debt-is-the-new-bla/ Please read this one - not just because it took me forever to write - but also because it is important.

04.01.2022 If the sharemarket was a 20-something girl, it would be pre-drinking Breezers and doing its makeup right now. It’s just getting warmed up. This and other thoughts about what might happen following the RBA's rate cut last week. https://buff.ly/3lfdWoq
03.01.2022 This is what my friend said after she started her first share portfolio this year. Money isn't just for buying stuff, it's for building stuff. Like wealth ... and confidence. 02.01.2022 In quarantine, if all you want to do is watch Tiger King, bake sourdough and watch people stack Jenga blocks on their dogs, then you should totally do that guilt-free. But if you have a bit of time and want to save some money I have made a list of options many of which can be done online and therefore actually combined with a binge-watch of Kath and Kim. https://buff.ly/2K02zj5
02.01.2022 Hey you, yes you! The one trying to make a bunch of resolutions. Chill out, be kind, and think about how awesome you really are. Oh, and read this post as well. https://buff.ly/3olpA2j
01.01.2022 Are you guilty of this? (Metaphorically, I mean. I love actual snacks). I've done this for years with dating. I don't ask for anything more than casual hook-ups because I'm afraid that if I ask for love, I'll get rejected. For years I stayed in safe jobs that didn't pay that well, because I was afraid to ask for more. I didn't believe I deserved it. ... I was thinking about this today, listening to Brene Brown interview Glennon Doyle about her new book Untamed. It's about the way society shapes women to ask for less, to stay 'tamed', because we are less trouble that way. But it leaves us restless, feeling like there's something not quite right. Glennon talks about a cheetah she saw at a zoo who looks into the distance, suspecting there is a wild animal life she should be living. What are the things you're not doing or achieving or experiencing - because you've been afraid to ask for more? What's the meal you really want to eat? The podcast is called Unlocking Us with Brene Brown if you want to listen. Untamed is next on my reading list! #fiercegirlfinance #UNTAMED #girlboss #brenebrown #SelfImprovement #askformore
