15.01.2022 Great news! Equinor's plans have made it to question time in Norwegian parliament. Kristoffer Robin Haug from the Norwegian Greens (Miljøpartiet de Grønne) asks Minster for Petroleum and Energy and Kjell-Børge Freiberg whether he will instruct Equinor, as a 67% state owned company, to withdraw from the Bight, and what an oil spill would do to Norway's reputation in Australia. 10.01.2022 Tomorrow, Australia's offshore oil and gas regulator NOPSEMA is due to provide further instruction on BP's push to drill for oil in the Great Australian Bight -... a pristine marine wilderness and whale nursery. Please watch and share Mirning Elder and Whale Songman from the Nullarbor/Great Australian Bight, Bunna Lawrie's submission to the Australian Senate Inquiry into the issue. "We don't want BP or any other oil company in our Great Australian Bight...the great whale sanctuary, the greatest of all". Bunna Lawrie, April 2016. BP has not right to risk the Bight.

04.01.2022 Today, the Cronulla surfing community banded together to show their support for the Fight for the Bight. If you haven't heard, Norwegian oil giant Equinor wil...l soon begin drilling off the South Australian Coast. The Great Australian Bight is home to a unique and extraordinary array of marine life. Whales, sea lions, birds, turtles, fish and sponge gardens all depend on its pristine waters. An oil spill disaster in the Great Australian Bight would be devastating. Seven years ago in the Gulf of Mexico, the United States was subjected to one of the worlds worst oil spills. The clean up still continues today. But the loss of life and livelihoods, the horrific fate of tens of thousands of oil coated fish, birds and mammals cannot be recovered. Equinor 's environment plan is before industry regulator NOPSEMA and is open to public comment, closing on March 20. This will be the last public consultation before NOPSEMA makes their decision, and its important you have your say via the link below. Its a crucial time to take a stand. The Bight is one of the last great tracts of marine wilderness in the world, and it needs to remain wild. This is YOUR chance to tell them that Big Oil does not belong in the Great Australian Bight. #fightforthebight https://www.nopsema.gov.au//form-public-comment-on-draft-/

03.01.2022 Cronulla is your turn

03.01.2022 Sunday 10am South Cronulla. Yes we have oil rigs all over Australia but this proposed one will be in the riskiest location, exposed to monster swells and the effects of an oil spill will be far reaching and absolutely devastating to our sea life and coastlines. Come show your support Sunday at Southies: Swim, paddle out or stand on shore to show your support. Also please sign any petition you see online in the meantime
