25.01.2022 CHINA: HAVEN SANCTUARY'S HOME GROWN VEGIES. The Haven Sanctuary have 400 rescue dogs to feed each day. Jiajia rescued most of them from the meat trade. The Haven are growing their own vegetables to give extra nutrition to their dogs, plus offset some feed costs. 24.01.2022 VIETNAM: 1,000 DOG MEAT TRUCK HEADED NORTH. THIS IS WHAT HELL LOOKS LIKE! Welcome to Vietnam. Many of these dogs are stolen pets wearing house collars and name tags. They've been stomach tubed with liters of putrid drain water, then force fed kilos of rice pumped into their stomach. The last thing before big dog trucks pull out onto the road is to hose the dogs down - to remove some of the VOMIT FROM CONVULSING DOGS after being forcefed water and rice. A lot of dogs will die ...before the truck gets to the destination. There's no dog farms in Vietnam. How would you feel if you saw this in real life? This is Vietnam, home of the most VIOLENT of all dog and cat meat trades. Dog trucks like this are not stopped - locals cannot stop them. Its far too dangerous! PLEASE DO "NOT" BLAME LOCAL ANIMAL LOVERS - BLAME DOG TRADERS AND DOG BUTCHERS... BLAME DOG EATERS... BUT PLEASE DO "NOT" BLAME LOCAL ANIMAL LOVERS! It is impossible for local rescuers to halt these trucks. This truck was videoed in Quang Binh, north of central Vietnam, heading north toward Hanoi's main slaughterhouses. 21.01.2022 VIETNAM: R.I.P. LITTLE JEANIE, YOU ARE FREE. This afternoon little Jeanie lost her battle when her heart stopped. She quietly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge with Mr Son by her side. 20.01.2022 VIETNAM: ROTTWEILER IN BUTCHER'S CAGE, Part 1 of 2. This Rottweiler had an owner but the family refused to allow the dog to stay because he's so big. 19.01.2022 VIETNAM: OUR DMT SURVIVORS ERIC AND CALLIE. Beautiful video of our DMT survivors Eric and Callie learning to play ball in hospital. Neither of them knew what to do, but Callie soon got the hang of it. Callie is terrifed of everyone but with Eric next to her, she can do anything. Video taken a few days ago, right before we moved Eric to our rehab expert Ali. Without Eric left hospital Callie stopped playing ball. In a couple of weeks Callie will be ready to join Eric at Ali's ...too. They'll have a big reunion. // Both these dogs suffered horrifying injuries from the dog meat trade. Eric was beaten to a pulp and had 3 broken legs and 2 broken jaws. Callie had boiling water deliberately poured over her entire body, to start cooking her alive. Amazingly, Eric loves everyone. [Video taken in the vet hospital garden.] Jenny the Husky couldn't stand or walk, Callie had boiling water deliberately poured over her by a butcher to skin her alive, and Cody had his mouth bound shut by dog thieves. Jenny the Husky's getting stronger and happier every day! She was so sick we didn't expect her to survive, but now she's playful and happy. 17.01.2022 CHINA: STEEL TRAP CLAMPED ONTO DOG'S FACE. Local rescuers are searching to locate and save this dog. Expat foreigners and local Chinese are involved in the rescue efforts. Reports say the dog's had the steel trap on his face for 30 days! He's slowly starving. This is another reason steel traps need to be smashed and done away with in every country! 17.01.2022 VIETNAM: FUNNY VIDEO OF OUR DMT SURVIVOR ERIC. Eric's got a secret plan to win games - sit on your opponents head! He's hilarious. Eric had 3 broken legs and 2 broken jaws, after being beaten to a pulp. Plus severe sepsis infection and blood parasites. Eric was in Dr. Nghia's intensive care unit for many months. A week ago we transferred Eric to rehab with Ali. Eric made instant friends with everyone! But on Saturday he had to go back into hospital for some more surgery on hi...s jaws, which are held together with metal. Eric will be back at Ali's again any day, ready to play non-stop. We didn't know if Eric would survive. We didn't think he'd ever be able to walk. Now he runs, jumps and skips around. Absolutely love Eric. 13.01.2022 CHINA: HAVEN SANCTUARY GETS READY FOR WINTER. The Haven Sanctuary gets heavy snow in winter, making it impossible for the 400 rescued dogs to run around and exercise. Snow also makes it impossible for shelter manager Jiajia and her team to get their work done each day. Earlier in the year the Haven had rain every day for over a month! It was terrible. The Haven have just built a beautiful huge new roof between the big kennel block (at the back), and Jiajia's living quaters (...at the front of the shelter.) The dogs will stay dry and have plenty of room to run and play each day. Jiajia and her team will be able to move around freely, despite snow or rain. Most of the Haven's dogs were rescued by Jiajia from Anhui's local dog meat trade. The number of dogs increased to 400 this year due to so many baby puppies being left at their front gates; and thanks to Jiajia most of the puppies survived. 12.01.2022 CHINA: DOG BUTCHER WORKING IN PUBLIC CAR PARK. Opposite large tower blocks of residential apartments, a dog butcher in Hefei is brazenly slaughtering dogs and selling them for dog meat. Earlier in the year China removed dogs from the list of livestock for human consumption. It was nothing more than a paper tiger to appease those gullible enough to believe it. There's too much money changing hands in the murky dog meat world for the trade to just stop. China needs animal protection laws as a first step toward ending the gruesome trade. 06.01.2022 CHINA: UPDATE: STEEL TRAP DOG RESCUED! Chinese rescuers saved the dog with the steel trap clamped on it's face! Expat foreigners just went to the location an hour ago, to save the dog, but were told the dog was already in hospital. So they went to the vet clinic to visit him. His injury is on the 'other side' of his face. His jaws are damaged so he'll stay in hospital for a while. You can see its the same dog by how deathly skinny he is! Poor little guy couldn't eat with the steel trap clamped on the side of his face. "Thank You" to everyone involved in helping this dog. Very happy he's now safe.
