We are deeply saddened by this and hope that this will be for the short term and cant wait till this is all over and we can get back to training! 06.01.2022 The Queensland Road map to get us back to training This is great news for us with hopes to back partially operational by the 10th of July! During Stage 2 12th of June we will be able to open the gym with some modified classes to ease your body back in to training. With lots of our fundamental movements, solo drills, break falls ect. 05.01.2022 The South Pacific Championship is going ahead! Many of you have been concerned with the latest round of restrictions coming into effect for this weekend. But fe...ar not the competition is going ahead. Although it is not in the way you are used to! To comply with our own covid safety plan, as well as; venue, council, state and national guidelines this event and probably many more to come will not be run the same as you are used to. Important ways you can have the best day possible! For the kids competing each family may only have one guardian in attendance. No spectators will be allowed to enter the building Only actual coaches may attend (this will be closely monitored with penalties for teams that do not comply) Only one coach per competitor will be allowed to corner and stand at the barrier All guardians and athletes not in the area of play (area past uniform inspection as well as mat area) will be required to either be sitting or walking. No standing will be allowed unless at the podium, or a stall. The building will be emptied multiple times throughout the day so cleaning can take place. Social distancing will need to be maintained at all times outside the field of play. If this is breached referees and event organisers are empowered to stop matches until social distancing has resumed or the individuals have been removed. Temperature checks may be carried out on competitors and non competitors alike. Hand sanitizer will be available for all Mats will be spaced apart and the entire centre will be used to accommodate all attendees. Ensure you are well and healthy before you enter the building. Please follow directions of staff members Report any concerns or breaches in guidelines immediately to staff. If you are not satisfied with the response speak to the Event Coordinator directly. By following these guidelines we can continue to enjoy and compete in our sport. It is only through sacrifice that your Jiu Jitsu can develop. The same goes for participating and running events in the current climate - but if we are ready and determined to adapt we can overcome any adversity. Although this will be different to normal - we can still meet up with friends and fellow competitors from different teams and start to build back the Queensland BJJ Community. Unfortunately due to a confirmed case of Covid-19 at Parklands Christian College today as a precautionary measure we must ask all those members that attend or have had interactions with this school do not attend classes at our club for another 2 weeks. 01.01.2022 congratulations to all Fight Club competitors who competed at the South East QLD Championships yesterday! Overall fight Club placed: 2nd Male, and 3rd Female for the team. Was a great day with some tough matches and big divisions, now time to prepare for the State Championships!
