21.01.2022 Did you know that some disc rotors have a protection film on them to prevent corrosion during transport. This residue needs to be cleaned with a solvent like brake clean. Handy Hint: Carburettor cleaner and brake cleaner products are not the same. Carby cleaner is intended to leave a lubricating residue whereas brake clean will leave a dry surface.... If this protection film is not cleaned correctly, it can be impregnated into the brake pads and reduce braking efficiency.

Uneven rotor surfaces due to rotor run-out causes changing pressures on the brake caliper, resulting in vibration felt through the car.
