23.01.2022 Glenn's Interview on Channel 10 Sydney.

23.01.2022 Glenn was recently invited to present a talk at a meeting of Ben Lomond Landcare. The topic for his talk was "Re-assembling landscapes to support abundant water cycling". Glenn is passionate about spreading his knowledge of this topic where collectively farmers can re-assemble the landscape to re-create an effective water cycle and experience abundant rainfall. Instead of looking up to the clouds for rain we should be looking at what is happening underneath our feet. The soil... is a major storage and dispensing medium responsible for maintaining reliable water supplies. Glenn stressed that we need to develop a strong respect for the land and protect and rebuild soil health to renew the water cycle. By building up humus levels in the soil we can improve soil health, human health, the water cycle and restore climate stability. Glenn believes that we need to connect food enterprises to the regeneration of Australia's soil and water resources and this is the key to a stable and healthy future. See more

20.01.2022 Native Vegetation Here is the full News Item with Glenn, by Liv Casben from ABC News.

20.01.2022 Over the past 2 months we have been creating more ways for our potential customers to have access to our beef and now pork. We are packaging up our beef and pork into retail ready packs which consumers can now purchase directly from selected retail outlets. This is giving us an opportunity to meet consumers demands in areas that we have not been able to provide beef to in the past. This has enabled us to get our brand out to more people and in turn will hopefully make them m...ore aware of what we are doing on the farm, and our efforts to improve the environment. We are also hoping it will continue to raise awareness of animal welfare issues, and now at least they have a choice about which meat they buy. The retail shops have been very supportive and the number that we are servicing is continuing to grow. We deliver fortnightly and all the meat is vacuum packed for added shelf life and better freezing. Here is a list of shops that we are currently supplying: Spar Lismore Shop 1,62 Wyrallah Road, East Lismore NSW 2480 Phone: (02) 6621 2368 Spar Suffolk Park 3 Clifford St, Suffolk Park NSW 2481 Phone: (02) 6685 3209 Narvi Natural Products 6/70 Prince St, Grafton NSW 2460 Phone:(02) 6643 4666 Iluka Quality Meats 6 Young St, Iluka NSW 2466 Phone: (02) 6646 6233 Funki Munki Address: 21 Otho St, Inverell NSW 2360 Phone: (02) 6721 1305 Nourish All of You 28 30 Cherry St Ballina NSW 2478 Phone 6686 8955

19.01.2022 We were delighted to welcome one of our Figtrees Organic Farms customers for a farm visit. Julie Really enjoyed seeing the healthy livestock and pastures that she has helped create. It was wonderful hearing her story of her ketogenic diet journey and the health benefits of including Figtrees Organic beef and pork into her Low Carb Healthy High Fat diet.

18.01.2022 Its not always about the juicy organic steaks. A customer sent us this picture of their Spaghetti Bolognese. Made with our mince bought from Funki Munki. (spaghetti made from Woods Organic Farm & Flour Mill flour and the other ingredients from their garden)... This is a nutritious, affordable, organic meal and respects the animal that gave us sustenance by using the nose to the tail. Please share any meals you have prepared with FigTrees products. From a BBQ to Carpaccio to Bolognese. We would love to see it and you will inspire others. #FigTreesMeals

17.01.2022 I'm STILL coming down from the high that was interviewing THIS passionate man - Glenn Morris, from FigTrees Organic Farms - about the impact of soil quality on ...the health of animals, humans & the planet. :) Even our camera crew were completely blown away by the information he presented. The sheer depth of his knowledge is astounding. It was literally the highlight of the entire What To Eat program, for me! The missing piece of the puzzle. We're going to include a huge chunk of Glenn's interview in the 'Advanced' section of the What To Eat portal, for people like us, who might get excited about the fact that we can LITERALLY change the climate (reducing drought and atmospheric carbon) with our food choices. And no - it's NOT about avoiding meat! We will definitely be releasing a few little snippets outside of the portal as well - the world needs this info now! Have you seen our program trailer yet? http://stirringchange.com/?p=1954

14.01.2022 Recently we sent our first load of young organic pigs to be processed. Lots of work had led to this stage. Firstly we had the idea to extend our range of products from purely beef production to the production of organic pasture fed pork, ham and bacon. Then came the sourcing of a breed most suitable for this type of production including being easily managed. Next we had to research the requirements for pigs and build fenced areas where they could freely range and have access... to shade, wallows (mud baths) and plenty of food and fresh water. We watched the sows grow bigger and delighted in our first litters on the ground and then watched as the piglets quickly grew big enough for market. Also Glenn designed a crate for the back of his ute and brought in a pig loading ramp. We were unsure how they would load but they all walked on calmly and began to explore their new surroundings. The butchers have been pleased with the meat and lots of happy customers are now enjoying delicious free range organic pork. See more
