16.01.2022 Functional Tuesdays technique video!!! Thrusters...... What are thrusters?... The thruster is a well-known functional compound exercise thats part of the CrossFit workout program. Martial artists and athletes also practice thrusters. This exercise is a combination of a front squat and an overhead press. Thrusters are deemed to be one of the most beneficial exercises since theyre a full-body movement thats useful in daily life. Thrusters help improve coordination, muscular endurance, and balance. They help you gain both upper and lower body strength by working the quadriceps, glutes, and shoulders. Thrusters can also help you develop a strong core. Thrusters will elevate your heart rate, thus improving your cardiovascular fitness and performance. They also help boost your metabolism and increase your muscular endurance and strength. They improve intermuscular coordination, movement efficiency, and flexibility. You can add variation by using dumbbells, sandbags, or barbell in place of a kettlebells. Change up your routine by alternating high-rep, lightweight sets with low-rep, heavyweight sets. Thrusters work the whole body. 11.01.2022 Snatches are a great functional movement that we try and incorporated every week Lets go through the technique and hopefully this will help you with yours! Using an overhand grip, grab a dumbbell in one hand and stand with the feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Descend your hips to the floor until your knees are bent at 90-degrees and the dumbbell is resting on the floor.... Quickly pull the dumbbell toward the ceiling while simultaneously extending your knees and hips and raising your body on the balls of your feet. Keep the dumbbell close to your body. As the dumbbell reaches its highest point, quickly rotate your elbow under the weight and extend your arm. The dumbbell will rest over the top of your shoulder with the palm facing away from your body. 3 trainer tips from Jimmy! 1. Keep the dumbbell as close to your body as possible throughout the entire movement. 2. The movement starts with your hips and glutes. Thrust them forward to help raise the dumbbell above your head. 3. 07.01.2022 Its thats time fam! Our functional Tuesdays technique video! Recently weve been doing alot of box jumps and thought wed do a post listing the benefits of them. Box jumps are one of the main exercises in plyometric training or jump training. Not only do you burn calories through the explosive movements, you also develop your muscular endurance, strength, speed and coordination. All while training your bodys stability and mobility. By improving these two things, you will... be more flexible, faster, and more agile. This will also boost your footspeed and help your balance but also all of the other lower body lifts. Sharpening your coordination makes you better at other sports and helps you move through the day more securely and with fewer injuries. You will become more aware of your body and develop confidence. Box jump training requires you to work all of your leg muscles and strengthen your core. Box jumps also boost endurance and improve your cardiovascular health when you have to do alot of them. Plus, you burn between 800 and 1,000 calories per hour with explosive plyometric training, which makes it a great option for people who want to lose weight.
