06.01.2022 Which Format is Best ... DVD or USB? This is a question that we get asked more often than any other. Believe it or not, a normal DVD only has a safe life of only about 15 years. They are also more difficult to copy and of course ... can scratch easily. Additionally, their playback compatibility is only about 40% on computer, however using a normal DVD player (connected to your TV), compatibility rises to around 95%.... Whereas USB's are 100% compatible and will play on any computer and almost all flat screen TV's. USB's are easy to copy (provided you know what to do) and they offer great flexibility in terms of file sharing and uploading to the cloud for your friends and family to view from around the world. The other main concern with DVD's are ... how long will DVD players be around for??? As this is a REAL CONCERN ... we recommend going with the latest and most current technology, being USB, provided you make backups! To learn more, visit: FilmCopyCentre.com
