20.01.2022 LICK THE STAR (1998) Director: Sophia Coppola A clique of school girls devise a secret plan that they code-name "Lick the Star".... I can’t believe that Sophia Coppola is not listed as one of the top 50 Directors in the World (although her Dad is). I love the reference to Flowers in the Attic in this film as it was a cult classic during my teenage years..... Searching the list I was bitterly disappointed that it only includes men I’m currently having a crack at writing a feature set in North Western Australia and Sophia's The Beguiled (2017) is proving to be a great source of inspiration. Synopsis: Three cash-strapped siblings try to talk their wealthy mother into committing euthanasia. Sacha Horler, Matt Day & Harriet Dyer are my top three favourite Aussie Actors! Super Stars in my eyes Sacha won Best Actress for this little beauty. The Film also won Best Screenplay as part of Tropfest 2017 and the Audience Award at the Dead by Dawn Film Festival 2018.
