12.01.2022 Thanks for the rad review The Rockpit Check it out here Filth Wizard are a band I have been following intently for the past twelve months. This was the third time I had managed to see & hear them live and each time they just get better & better. Solid from front to back, they are a band that are hard to pigeon-hole as one minute they pack a huge grunge punch and the next they rock out with some intricate six-string work from guitarist Clayton Brown (he has the most... intense pedal board Ive ever seen). Jess June is quite possibly one of the hardest hitting drummers in town right now, as well as incredible to watch and along with Jenna Hardie, they have such a tight rythmn section with which to build on. With telecaster slung across his shoulders front man Benn Burdette added sublime vocals with Browns harmonies helping to bring it all together exceptionally well. The eight-song set was finished off with their excellent debut single Snowflake, with the band launching the video clip for the single on August 15 at Lucys Love Shack. See more

10.01.2022 We met Dean Summers a couple years back at the Prince in Bunbury, a huge supporter of local music and a genuinely lovely soul. He filmed a couple songs for us, and we shared a couple jacks & some laughs. As of earlier this year Dean completed a walk across Australia (from Bunbury to Sydney) for suicide prevention and awareness of mental health issues - The Walk For Hope. On Sunday the 26th at Badlands Bar there will finally be a homecoming show and welcome back to gigs for th...is legend, with part proceeds going to Beyond Blue. The members of Filth Wizard arrived at Badlands still a little worse for wear after having supported Gyroscope the night before. Didnt matter, once they hit the stage this band of grunge merchants showed the audience why theyre already revered as one of the best bands in Perth right now. Seriously, this band keeps hitting new heights pretty much every time they play and, with new single, Snowflake and more material on the way, the only thing standing between them and world domination is the small matter of a global pandemic.
