24.01.2022 Some day in the future everything will make sense. So for now let's laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding ourselves that everything happens for a reason. #lockdownlife #wegotthis personal branding for the funnel queen @katemckibbin ... hair and makeup @lisarathgenmakeuphair See more
24.01.2022 I'm excited to finally be able to share this incredible project by The Cullin Interiors that I had an opportunity to work on pre stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne. Every year the girls at Cullin Interiors makeover a space for a pay-it-forward project associated with The Monash Childrens Hospital, to raise awareness of the wonderful work they do, and to support those who have experienced a complicated childbearing journey. The 2020 project was to revamp the Paediatric Intensive ...Care Ward of Victorias Monash Children's in partnership with The Brightest Star, however due to Covid the decision was made to take it to the community. Megan from Fawn and Finch gave birth to one of her gorgeous girls Blair at 29 weeks. Weighing only 790gm, Blair was cared for by the incredible health care team at Monash, and today is an absolutely gorgeous and bubbly bundle of joy. Sarah from The Cullin Interiors worked with Megan on this project from first concept through to completion, and as a result these two have created the most stunning Modern Boho bedroom a girl could dream for. At the same time, they have raised awareness of the life-saving work continually performed by the team at Monash. And guess what? The project doesn't stop there. Megan's two gorgeous girls, Blair and Willow, now have a beautiful bedroom to move into.... however, down the hall part two of the project has also been completed - a stunning nursery for their baby brother who will be arriving soon. Stay tuned for some images of that gorgeous space which I'll share with you all tomorrow. By the way, if you're swooning over anything you've spotted in these images, many of the brands involved have offered generous discount codes on their products. Get in touch with Cullin Interiors or Fawn and Finch for deets. And if you'd love to create a beautiful space of your own, make sure you get in touch with The Cullin Interiors. Their work is incredible.
23.01.2022 I'm really missing shoots and can't wait to get back behind the camera, but something that's kept me excited through the months has been seeing so many of my photography clients launch stunning websites with images we captured before work had to stop. And I'm absolutely in love with the look and feel of this site recently launched by relationship coach Felicity Casey - https://www.felicitycasey.com/ Felicity described her brand as feminine, empowering, transformational and pu...rposeful, and I get all the feels for these words when I scroll through her pages. Here are a few of Felicity's images from our shoot, along with her website. Do you think she nails her brand?
21.01.2022 I'm always pumped when I send through final galleries, knowing I'm handing over a portfolio of images that not only look amazing but will help my clients become more confident, more wiling to promote themselves, and as a result more visible. It doesn't usually get better than that ... until you see what an incredible website designer can also do with those images. Check out this new website for Susan from Eat Sleep Play Repeat created by the UBER-talented crew from Flourish O...nline. I love sharing websites because I honesty think they offer so much inspiration for what's possible for anyone, showing how great images and great design can work together to create something that reflects a personal brand perfectly, something that's incredibly engaging and attractive to the right audience - the audience YOU want to CONNECT with! These images were all created during a 2 hour session in my Elsternwick studio in December last year. As always I went into the session making sure I had a detailed understanding of Susan's brand style, her messaging and her ideal clients, so we could nail the right shots for her new site. Flourish Online the site looks incredible, absolutely love your work! https://eatsleepplayrepeat.co/
20.01.2022 What's up? It's the end of July already can you believe it? Regardless of this bag of lemons we've been handed this year (see post from earlier this week), we are all still achieving great things every month, no matter how big or small! I'm a big believer in celebrating our wins but I honestly feel that culturally, in Australia, giving ourselves a pat on the back is not always something we're encouraged to do - and particularly as women we have a tendency to spend more ti...me thinking about what we HAVEN'T done. So let's change that habit! Let's celebrate what you've achieved this month! Give yourself a shout out below. Go on, I dare you! For July I'm celebrating the fact that I've just wrapped up the first month of my new membership Shine Online, an idea and dream I've had in my head for almost a year now. It's early days and I feel like such a beginner but instead of focussing on all the imperfect actions I've been taking in the group, I'm celebrating the wonderful women that have chosen to join me and how excited I am about what we're all working on together. So now it's your turn - what are you celebrating this month? Personal Branding Image for meganjaworski.xo.
20.01.2022 There's nothing like kicking off a new year with some new, beautiful images for your business! If you want to hit the ground running in 2021 and create more visibility in your business, then showing up for your audience is an essential part of that. One thing I hear all the time from my clients is that they haven't shown up in the past because they've never had images they'd felt proud of posting. ... With so many great brand photographers around these days, don't let that be your excuse! Have you booked your 2021 brand shoot yet? Personal branding image for one of my favourite business duos, Lucy and Mary from Real Life Medicine, amazing real life doctors who help women achieve real health and weight loss. Go check them out - they run fantastic online programs and they are going to do incredible things in 2021!
20.01.2022 It's one thing to set goals for the year ahead but without a plan, they won't happen. I learnt that the hard way over the years when I dreamt big but didn't do the work to make sure those dreams could be realised. I'm back at my desk today after a fantastic break and in planning mode for the next 12 months. I'll be writing down my main priorities for the year, detailing what I want to get done in the next 90 days, and creating a plan to go with them. I'm also making sure I've got help lined up to get things done - it's been a long, hard slog but I'm slowly putting behind me the years when I thought I could do it all myself ... I know, right? Have you got a big vision for your year? And how do you like to plan it out?
19.01.2022 I've been lucky to work in some incredible locations over the years, such as this shoot here with Rachel Gadiel in Paris three years ago (take me back!!!). Talk about dream photo shoot destination .... I know we're all either stuck at home at the moment, or within the confines of our own state or country borders, BUT there will come a time when we can travel again (yes there will!!!). When that time comes, and if you were able to travel to anywhere in the world for a branding photo shoot, where would it be? Hit me up with YOUR dream shoot destination below!

18.01.2022 If you're forever forgetting your shopping bags, go check out Foldabyl - a clever new product from one of my Bayside clients which I photographed early this week. Each pouch - which looks more like a stylish wallet - can store up to five recyclable plastic shopping bags. They can be kept in your handbag or the side door of your car. They'll even fit into the back pocket of men's jeans - which I think makes them a great gift idea for Father's Day! Very cool hey. The web...site just went live a day ago so go check them out and order a pair for your household - you'll be supporting local when you do https://foldabyl.com/
17.01.2022 This is my WHY. My PURPOSE. What gets me up every morning for work.... Photographs are so much more than images. They can empower people through confidence, and they can help create the life you want to live. When Suze from Eat Sleep Play Repeat booked in for her shoot she was only hoping for 1 or 2 good images, and she only intended to use one small photo of herself on her website About page. Well, here you can see a few images from Suze's session along with a screenshot of her website home page. Hiding her on the About page was NEVER a possibility. Thanks so much Suze for your amazing words which light me up every time I read them! Hair and Makeup - Lisa Rathgen Website Design - Flourish Online See more

17.01.2022 Ahhhh ... the weekend! It's time to rest, rejuvenate and renew, and my favourite way of doing that is in bed with a hot mug of coffee and a book. 16.01.2022 If you're wanting to buy or sell a house at the moment make sure you listen to this podcast with one of my wonderful branding clients, Lisa from AJ Stafford Property Services. 15.01.2022 I didn't shoot these products (although it would've been SO much fun!) but I want to give another small biz shout out today, and at the same time offer another great idea for Father's Day this weekend (if you're still looking!). Recently launched by an absolutely gorgeous Melbourne friend who lost her event biz thanks to Covid, Balloon Bomb is the perfect way to brighten up anyone's day or special occasion while in lockdown - or after! I've been on both the receiving and s...ending end of a gorgeous bunch and they don't disappoint. Go check them out https://balloonbomb.com.au/ #supportlocal
15.01.2022 Another week of iso-life, another week of enjoying the simple pleasures in life, and coffee is definitely one of mine. What's a simple pleasure that's kept you going while working from home? Image for Kylie Broadfoot - KMB Coaching
14.01.2022 Here we go with another week of pandemic life! Whether you're able to still work or stuck at home, there's no doubt we are all feeling heavily, negatively impacted by our circumstances, which leads to feeling happy and positive one day, and low the next. BUT... even though we may all be struggling that doesn't mean we can't still have a positive impact on other people's lives. And in turn, impact the lives of people we don't even know. Youve probably heard about the 'ripp...le effect'. The Ripple Effect refers to the spreading influence of an action or event. It's often talked about in relation to spreading kindness, but can relate to the transfer of any mood, negative or positive. Right now what we all need is a huge positive ripple effect - one that spreads love, kindness and support to everyone possible in our circle. When we do that we make others feel better, and they in turn are more likely to do the same within their own circle. What do you think? Are you in? I talk about the Ripple Effect more on my latest blog - just click the link below if you want to check it out: https://www.fimimsphotography.com.au/the-ripple-effect-we-/

13.01.2022 How's your LinkedIn game? Yesterday my Shine members got to spend over an hour online with one of Australian's leading LinkedIn experts, Karen Hollenbach from Think Bespoke, learning how to level up their LinkedIn game - and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was a game-changing session for everyone! LinkedIn and how to navigate it is still a bit of a mystery for most people (and let's face it, it's much more fun to scroll through pretty pictures on Instagram, even Karen ackn...owledged that) but when you have an understanding of how it works and how to use it for your business, it's not scary at all. And as Karen explained yesterday, it can be as simple as 5 minutes each morning and 1 post per week. I believe that in today's super-crowded online space we should be using any platform possible (especially the free ones right?) to learn from others, engage with others, and talk about what we do with others, and LinkedIn is a great place to do just that! If you are looking to level up your LinkedIn game make sure you connect with Karen via Think Bespoke (or on LinkedIn!) because she's got ALL the goods on how to navigate this space! How do you feel about LinkedIn? Is it a no-go zone for your biz? Are you one of those people that has a profile but hasn't been on in over a year? Or do you actively engage in there?
13.01.2022 So yesterday was my birthday, I turned 47 (or 50 minus 3 as my husband likes to say), and being an iso-birthday it could've been memorable for all the wrong reasons. But, thanks to my gorgeous family and many incredible friends it was memorable for all the RIGHT reasons. There's been a lot to complain about this year, but on the flip side there's been so much to be grateful for, and for me, yesterday was a celebration of so much that I'm grateful for this year. 2020 has gi...ven me the opportunity to: - adjust the pace of life to one where it doesn't feel like it's disappearing in a blur - have a renewed perspective on my business and how I want it to look - focus on things that matter, that I don't usually have time or space for - create new offerings in my business that have pushed me outside my comfort zone - acknowledge the amazing circle of friends and family I have around me I was talking to one of my amazing friends this morning, and she mentioned that 2021 will be such a year of change for so many people, thanks to what this year has thrown at us all. I feel like we're all at a crossroad right now, and next year everyone will be asking themselves, 'do I want to keep going straight ahead, or take a turn left or right, hit reverse and go back, or just take my foot off the accelerator?' It's a simple question but I don't think the answer is going to be easy for any of us. Or maybe it IS an easy answer, but making it happen will be where the difficulty lies - as with most things are. Which direction will you be driving towards next year?
13.01.2022 When I talk to clients about props, things that commonly come up are items such as laptops and phones, desk stationary, coffee mugs and books. So when Mary Butler booked in for one of my studio shoot days and asked if she could bring her 2 dogs and a yellow Vespa, it was a 'hell yeah' from me! Check out her new website and cracker banner image, plus a few of the other shots we captured during her session. What's a unique prop you can think of that would be great to use on a... branding shoot? (Pssst! My next studio shoot day is on May 5th and there are only 2 spots left - head to my link in bio and 'monthly shoot days' to snag one of them!)
13.01.2022 "Great things never come from comfort zones." But the good news is, stepping OUT of your comfort zone gets easier with practice. When's the last time you stepped outside yours? If it's been a while, why not give it another go this week? It always feels better on the other side... I promise! ... 12.01.2022 The only thing better than celebrating your own wins (like I did last week, turning 50 minus 3 ) is celebrating your amazing clients, and the rebrand for Tiluca Solutions that was finally unveiled last week had me wanting to pop open another bottle of bubbly! Cat from Mint Design Collective has done an incredible job creating Nat's stunning new logo and delicious colour palette (that's seriously good enough to eat), along with a clean and beautiful website, and the images ...we captured for Nat work perfectly across it all Nat's images were captured at one of my monthly mini-branding shoot days early this year where we get BIG results from sessions much smaller than my signature one-on-one shoots. I can't wait to get back to running these again when work can recommence in Melbourne! I'm currently taking names for my waitlist, so if you're interested get in touch for a chat. As well as being an incredibly beautiful person, Nat is an Online Business Manager with over 20 years experience who's extremely passionate about making life easier for her clients while they grow their business. She works with coaches, consultants, small businesses and start ups, so get in touch with her if you are struggling with your workload or just want to pull back some precious hours into your day. She's amazing! https://tilucasolutions.com.au/
12.01.2022 The clever Debbie Wood created this graphic recording during the masterclass on content strategy that I ran in my membership group earlier this week. What a talent!! Not only to be able to draw this well, but to do it LIVE, and in such a connected way while taking in the info. Deb, youre the bomb! Thank you If you're looking for a graphic recorder, get in touch with Deb - http://debbiewood.com.au/wp/
12.01.2022 Does your Instagram feed need to be pretty? You can check out my thoughts on this in my latest blog... What do YOU think? I'd love to know when you've had a read. https://www.fimimsphotography.com.au/does-your-instagram-f/
12.01.2022 Never stop showing up and you're already most of the way there. x
11.01.2022 I was chatting to someone last week thats having a rough time. Shes been out of work for a few months thanks to Covid, and told me she felt like a loser because everyone around her looks like they're still flying along doing fine. 'Looks like...' are words that haunt us all regularly. They 'look like' theyre doing so well... If only I could 'look like' them So this is a reminder to anyone feeling the same that no matter what anyone looks like, no one has their shit together. And even though some people may be doing okay through this crazy pandemic, there's always - ALWAYS - stuff going down behind the scenes that you're not privy to. And you know what, even if people are doing okay - and yes there are some who are at the moment - their story is not your story, so measuring yourself up against them doesn't make sense. Comparison is never kind. Dont waste your beautiful energy thinking about others, not unless its creating a positive impact. Channel the energy youve got into yourself - your self care, your own business, your own brand, your own clients, your own family. Thats the only thing that will bring you true results.
11.01.2022 Heading into the week like .... ah, well, actually I'm not! This was my plan, but to be honest I've been crook as a dog for the last few days and lying low, trying to kick this stupid bug I've got... Coming back from my break I was so pumped and energised to get back into things but it seems that wasn't life's plan. Just like last year taught us, this week has been a reminder that things don't always go as planned! And that's okay. If there's one thing we're all getting bet...ter at these days, it's rolling with the punches... And whilst I'm feeling, sounding and probably looking a little flat at the moment, I'm still excited and energised underneath all the phlegm I'm coughing up (sorry if that vision just ruined your morning ). How's your week kicking off? Are you energised and excited, or feeling a little flat? (Hint - there's no wrong answer!) Personal branding for Megan Jaworski Hair and makeup Zoe O'Meara
11.01.2022 Did you know that many successful big businesses have specifically chosen their brand colours because of the messaging it represents? Coca Cola and Lego went with red which represents excitement, youthfulness and boldness. Facebook went with blue as it represents trust, security and wisdom, and McDonalds went with yellow which represents optimism and happiness. Whether you've realised it or not, colour psychology is always at work in YOUR business too. The colours you use a...cross your visual brand assets - including the clothes you wear when you show up online - send a message to people who view them. Do you know what your brand colours represent? Why did you choose them? How do they make you, and your audience feel? Even if you weren't thinking about colour psychology when you selected them, you were drawn to them for a reason. Notice how the different clothing colours in these images affect the way you feel about each one. I've added a Colour Emotion Guide at the end of my post too if you want to check out what some of the more common colours represent - could be the brand geek in me but I find this stuff really fascinating! Of course there are other elements also at play that can create emotions through our visuals, but colour is a big one! Good to keep in mind when you're planning your next shoot, or rebranding... Tell me below, what are your brand colours and what do they represent?
10.01.2022 Love this perspective from @emiliasoprano who I photographed for @melbaoperatrust pre-COVID... That new headshot I was going to use for all the applications/ comps/ auditions that were meant to happen this year... Ah well, well all return to the stage and to the rehearsal room with a new sense of gratitude and joy for our art that we might never have experienced otherwise. I have no doubt that when life resumes as normal well all have a new, immense sense of gratitude an...d appreciation for so many things - if we dont already. 10.01.2022 This is how I'm feeling this morning knowing I don't have to manage remote learning for the next two weeks! Anyone else? We still have the task of working out how to keep our Melbourne metro kids engaged and outdoors as much as possible under lockdown but given the choice, I'd rather deal with this than trying to help with long division... ... What are you getting up to, indoors or outdoors, over the next two weeks? Any suggestions for 11 year olds that don't involve devices? 09.01.2022 Last week I got to spend a few hours with this incredibly talented woman, Sophie from My Beautiful Abode. I met Soph through Emma McQueen last year when I joined her Thriving Women program, and just love spending time with her. I'm also blessed to have her in my Shine community, and she never fails to make me smile or laugh with her positivity and quiet humour. Sophie is an interior designer and stylist that helps people turn their homes into beautiful, inviting spaces. We... used both her shopfront in Ashwood and her nearby home to capture her and she certainly lives what she does - her spaces were warm, homely, inviting and of course beautiful! A massive shout out to Nicole Vine Personal Stylist who worked with Sophie on her outfits pre-shoot to make sure she looked amazing in front of the camera. And amazing is exactly how she looks in these, don't you agree? Soph's stunning hair and Makeup by Nathalie Prince.
09.01.2022 Did you catch yesterday's post about this pay-it-forward project by The Cullin Interiors that I was asked to capture? The project was in collab with online mamma Megan from Fawn and Finch and raises awareness of the wonderful work done by Monash Childrens Hospital. As promised, here is Part Two - the most stunning nursery space for Megan's baby boy who will be arriving soon Go back and check out part one if you'd love to read about the gorgeous backstory to this project, as well as view one of the most stunning girls' bedroom I've ever set eyes on
08.01.2022 Are you an oils person? To be honest I haven't used oils in the past, but recently they've become one of my new simple pleasures. I'm currently treating myself to daily doses of either the Self Love blend by @earthblended or the Organic Uplifting blend by From Earth - two Australian companies with a range of absolutely beautiful products. Their smell is of course divine, but I also love the energy and 'lift' they bring to me when I put them on, and I'm now excited to try d...ifferent blends. So I'd love to know, if you're an oils person then what's your favourite brand/blend, and why? I'd love some suggestions! Personal branding image below for Arithmos, a new Melbourne startup whose own incredible range of handmade oils will be hitting shelves soon. 05.01.2022 Ive always envied people with the ability to walk into a room and completely transform it! People often assume that because Im a photographer Im also a stylist, but they are completely different skill sets. Yes I can move things around and make sure a scene looks good through the lens, but stylists whether its for food, fashion or branding take things to a complete new level that is well beyond me. They can turn the average into AMAZING. This week on the blog you can... meet Sarah and Sheree from The Cullin Interiors, a powerhouse duo that run a multipurpose interior design & style hub based on the Mornington Peninsula. With their combined talent these two turn the average into amazing on a daily basis. Not ones to sit still, Sarah and Sheree recently launched a new arm to their business, S + S Photographic Studio an incredible space that can be booked for interior styling, food styling, and shoots (stay tuned, we have been working on something exciting to do with this space which we cant wait to announce when things start to return to normal around here!) Hop over to the blog where you can read and find out more about this powerhouse due. I love these ladies and I know you will too! https://www.fimimsphotography.com.au/meet-sarah-sheree-fro/ Hair and makeup by the talented Lisa Rathgen Makeup and Hair Stylist.
05.01.2022 Another incredible graphic drawing of one of our Shine Masterclasses captured brilliantly by @deb_sketches! (Deb, you're A-Mazing!) Yesterday's topic was goal setting and planning, and we covered a STACK of content, all based on setting ourselves up for a successful year. There's no need to tell you what we worked on as it's pretty much all here for you to see! One thing I will mention though is that we talked about the importance of rewarding ourselves when we achieve ou...r goals, something which I don't believe any of us do enough. Do you celebrate your wins? What's something you've done to reward yourself when you've achieved a goal, big or little? If not, this is a great year to start!
05.01.2022 I absolutely loved photographing these personal branding images for the talented Laura Harris, founder of @go.aboveandbeyond - a luxury gift hamper business that will have you yelling 'shut up and take my money' when you get a glimpse inside its creations. Today I'm back behind the camera again for Go Above and Beyond, this time to capture the bespoke range of products Laura personally curates to ensure that every one of her gift boxes, hampers or baskets are stocked with bea...utiful, high quality goods. I can't promise I won't try to steal or eat half of them on the job (she claims the rocky road and chocolate cookies are the best you will ever taste) but I will at least make sure I photograph them before I do. You can't ask for more than that... Still need to organise client gifts for Christimas? Get in touch with Laura, her products will WOW them! And just sayin', I'm slightly starting to freak out that I haven't done any Xmas shopping yet ... anyone else?
02.01.2022 Wise words from an inspirational woman! Stop focusing on your competitors. Stop worrying about what people might think of you. Stop wondering if you are good enough.... Offer exceptional value to your audience and customers, and an amazing experience, and you will be remembered for all the right reasons!
01.01.2022 There is no doubt 2020 is testing us all this year, we're having to pull out all stops to stay positive and not only look after ourselves but also those around us. I've focused on my #silverlinings all year and they remind me that in every bad situation, something positive can be found. One of those positives for our family has been really stepping back and basking in life's simple pleasures - and Father's Day at our house yesterday utilised many of them. We soaked up blue s...kies and sunshine with a backyard picnic, we entertained ourselves with a scavenger hunt hosted by Gus, we cuddled on the couch over a family movie, and we laughed over a game of Pictionary. All the good (and simple) things! If you had to list your favourite simple pleasure yo'uve enjoyed for 2020, what would it be? What have you loved doing thanks to iso-life and the lack of pressure to do/be/have?
01.01.2022 Are you struggling with the juggle? Trying to do 'all the things' while maintaining some sort of balance across everything? Feeling like if you stop for longer than a few seconds, you're going to drop your bundle ....? Now more than ever before, business feels TOUGH. Everyone is competing for attention online. Its crowded, noisy, and knowing how to spend your time and energy is confusing. It feels like struggle-town out there! Well if Ive learnt one thing in my biz its... that success directly relates to how you show up. It may not be the only thing you require for success, but if you're not showing up it's going to be impossible to compete with everyone else who is. If you know that you're not showing the way you should or the way you want to, if you would love to show up consistently and in a more authentic way - in a way that feels aligned to your brand - then my new membership community could be just what you need. And Id love you to come join us. COVID has made business tougher for all of us but that doesnt mean we cant still have a successful business, it just means we have to be better at what were already doing. And to show up consistently. So if you're sick of feeling overwhelmed and about to fall off balance, if you'd love to feel supported and have some accountability to show up each month, come and check out what we're doing. Just hit the link below, or get in touch for a chat. Come join us and lets help you SHINE https://buff.ly/31iRCTq
01.01.2022 Really missing our gorgeous lab Truffle who passed away just before Covid really hit back in March.
