13.01.2022 Be on your way to retiring richer than you ever thought possible by taking greater control of how your money is invested in your Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF).

13.01.2022 The Australian Federal Government have today announced that they are scrapping the proposal to limit retrospective super contributions (non-concessional) to $500,000 for a lifetime. They are replacing it with a proposal to limit non-concessional contributions to $100,000 with 3 years worth allowed in any one year. They have also stated they will keep the $25,000 lower concessional cap from 1st July 2017.... They will also be keeping the $1.6M pension transfer cap (per person). 11.01.2022 Classic. This article shows (in summary) that the median cost of a wedding in USA is $15,000. It also provides a link to a 'compound share market return' calculator that shows a couple married in 1995 (20 years ago) would have $98,400 if they had invested the wedding cost into shares and left the investment to compound over that 20 year period. The reality is that a good deal of those people paid for their wedding with borrowed money and are still paying it off! http://www.sbs.com.au//comment-engaged-how-much-youd-make-

09.01.2022 Long-term investing may not be enough to mitigate risk. A new approach might be required.

07.01.2022 Super Legislation release: In the past 24 hours, the government has finalised legislation to: 1)Increase to the concessional contributions cap, which rises to $35,000 for people aged 60 years and over from July 1, and will increase to $35,000 for those over 50 from July 1, 2014... 2)Increases contributions tax from 15% to 30% for those earning over $300,000 There is no news (that I can find) regarding the increase in SGC from 9.0% to 9.25%, though on Bill Shortens media release (see: http://mfss.treasurer.gov.au/DisplayDocs.aspx) it clearly states the following: Since being elected in 2007, Labor has: Passed legislation to increase superannuation from 9 to 12 per cent, beginning July 1 this year. Cheers Paul

02.01.2022 Do you love your kids? Are you a good provider? If you answered yes, then you'd better have adequate life insurance.... How will the family survive if you're not around? Life insurance costs less than you think. It can be held inside super to be more tax effective. Policies marketed direct, via TV or internet have a high decline rate. If you get your cover through a properly licensed adviser, it won't cost you more. Get it sorted NOW! Don't hesitate.
