22.01.2022 Update 9.3.20 - I travelled to Port Macquarie to visit Melody at the weekend so apologies for not providing an update earlier. Melody is still being treated by the vets, she lost a little weight after her eye removal surgery and there were some post surgery complications. She loves the very kind vet staff and it is mutual. Her sore leg is also being treated and she is gaining better condition and hopefully will soon reach her normal weight. It is a long process of healing ...and she's not ready for discharge just yet. I've enclosed a pic of her comfortable in her cosy bed. I also spent some quality time with some of the awesome people who devoted themselves to finding her. Without their efforts, it would have been too late, it almost was but their last determined effort brought success. (Jane)

22.01.2022 Update 4.3.20 as cute as this photo of Melody is, I'm sorry to report that Melody had to undergo a major surgery today. After a visit by a specialist on Monday, in spite of the best efforts of the wonderful vets who have been treating her constantly since she was found, he explained that they would not be able to save her left eye. She had a painful ulcer that "melted" the eye and so today, her left eye has been removed. She came through the surgery well and is recoverin...g tonight. The vets have done everything to make her comfortable post surgery and we'll keep you all up to date with her progress. Further, Melody continues to have treatment for an ulcer on her remaining eye, investigation of a limp and continuing treatment for wounds. She faced a very difficult environment with many natural and manmade hazards whilst on the run. Not every lost dog ends up with so many issues, Melody has been very unlucky in this regard although it is really amazing that such a tiny dog survived all those dangers. She is truly a miracle and a fighter and the vets continue to bring her up to a better level of health with a huge amount of loving care. Due to her huge weight loss, things have had to be tackled over time and not just in a couple of days. Melody has had a multitude of issues to be overcome. (Jane)

18.01.2022 UPDATE: So much of the success in finding Melody was the community and the volunteers involved. Christine from 2WayFM has supported us through this search and recently took the time to interview one of the amazing volunteers, Carolyn. It is a two part interview, we thank everyone again for their support and involvement in Melody’s search and rescue. 17.01.2022 Update 1.3.20 - Melody continues to recover, here's the latest pic taken of her. She's bright and happy and loves the vet nurses, they take great care of her and we truly appreciate all they've done and continue to do. Thank you all for your continued support, onwards and upwards for Melody! (Jane)

13.01.2022 Update at 14.3.20 Melody has gone up to 4.8kilos (0.4 in the last week) which is great news. She is still on antibiotics for her leg infection which is still a bit sore, however as you will see from the video, she is now able to get a little exercise to build up her muscle strength again after much of the last month in a cage on drips and the like. Her eye had its stitches removed today and it is looking good. We are hoping that she will soon be ready for release from the v...et and will update you on what will happen next, once we can confirm she is well enough to move. Thank you, Jane
