25.01.2022 Today We have just discovered that a sighting of a Maremma in MARONG last Sunday evening is definitely Rosie. There have been a lot of sightings and we do try to prove most of them but finally we have found her, thanks to very observant young woman driving between MARONG crossing and Happy Jacks on the Calder Alternative Highway. Please keep your eyes peeled and phone 0427752898 if you have any information. Sometimes the smallest thing can be a significant clue. Thanks in anticipation Cheryl

24.01.2022 Hi everyone we have not had any sightings for two weeks now. Please keep your eyes out for Rosie. Thanks

24.01.2022 this is Cheryl Dingle - I have been at nearly all sighting for last 5 months. Trust me when I say this is a very clever Maremma but the different environments change so rapidly. It is a real challenge to bring this young lady in. There are so many extenuating circumstances at the moment so we are at a bit of a loss. If you can offer assistance please phone 0427752898 and we can discuss. Themain focus at the moment is Graytown National park and maybe even north of that. We are so concerned at the lack of sightings too .Michelle Chelley and Cheryl are the 3 experienced people on the ground, sometimes in the field for up to 6 hours a day We are doing all that we can to find this beautiful girl!!

23.01.2022 WE NEED EYES KEEPING A LOOKOUT - McIvoy Highway and Northern Highway Heathcote Hi, the tracker dogs have confirmed today that the Maremma that has been seen yesterday in the creek bed, 1 km from the Echuca turn off on the Northern Highway is Rosie. This is the same creek bed she was seen at 9 weeks ago. She is using the dry creek beds to move around throughout the area.... We need to know immediately if you see her anywhere on the Northern Highway between Heathcote and Mt Camel and out to Costerfield to call Cheryl immediately.

23.01.2022 Hi everyone, just a reminder that its been a few weeks since we have had a sighting of Rosie the missing Maremma. she was last seen about 4 weeks ago near Idavue Estate. Please keep an eye out for her and call Cheryl immediately if you see her.

22.01.2022 5 May 2019 Rosie has come out of hiding today as the army started with the shooting. She was seen protecting a sick sheep and has now gone into the bush. She has been seen several times today. Thank you Michelle, Chelley and Cheryl who have been tracking her all day, and are still out there tonight. Thank You to the Barnes Family for all your help today. Both myself and Robyn appreciate all your help.

20.01.2022 There was some fur and then there was a pawprint which was dug up . I then drove to Lancefield where one tracker dog lives. She said yes this is Rosie but the handler also wanted to confirm with a more experienced tracker dog and he also said yes. Each dog is trained a little differently as to how they say yes. We will hopefully bring both dogs to help after weekend. There have been so many other dogs i.e Maremmas who are seen so there is no guarantee with these sightings.... The owner will come down as soon as Rosie is in one safe place and that is what we are all working on. There are 3 regular volunteer including myself- Cheryl and then there are extras who are driving around Axedale as it is now 4 days since she was actually seen and she hasnt been back there so far

20.01.2022 We know Puckapunyal have a two day exercise scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday this week. We are preparing for it. She will be totally freaked out, so we expect she will come out of there and bolt again. This morning they have started shooting, and she has come out of hiding. We have had two sightings of her this morning. Keep you eyes out for her. Thank you everyone. xxx

18.01.2022 We always need to keep in mind that Rosie is a Maremma. They are a particularly instinctive dog and lose those instincts incrementally when domesticated so that is why some Maremmas are more suited to bonding with a particular group of animals and in Rosies case her strongest bonding is with sheep. She is also very used to goats and chickens so she is not likely to harm any of the above. She has been observed to sleep in amongst a flock so she is missing her original flock. She will hunt rabbits and eat roadkill but she has to be missing her normal treats e.g goats milk ,eggs, and roast chicken so thats the way to go if you want to attract her.

18.01.2022 Golden retriever running down Seymour Avenel Rd, just near Mangalore.

17.01.2022 UPDATE 9 May 2019 Rosie has been out and about today with between 20 and 30 sightings around Heathcote. She started off on Kemps Lane then across the Golf Course to the corner of Bennett Street and Northern Highway, then across the bushland onto the McIvor Highway. She was seen near the Meehan Vineyard. ... She was last seen around 5ish tonight on the McIvor Highway about 20 meters from the corner of Northern Highway and McIvor Highway. A big thank you to Jeff the police man and Chelly and Michelle. If you see her, please do not chase her or approach her, just call Cheryl asap.

17.01.2022 We had a very productive day with the tracker dogs. This is Rosie today .Thanks Liz for the photo and it is a confirmed sighting as is the one last Mon at Costerfield Graytown road and another fresh scent was picked up at Mt Camel probably in last couple of days.Remember all sightings are important and if you can stay and watch where the dog goes then that could be the icing on the cake. Thank you to all those involved today

16.01.2022 we have had no new sightings of Rosie, please keep your eyes open for her and let Cheryl know immediately if you see her.

16.01.2022 A Message from Robyn Morgan Please dont try to approach Rosie, or follow her or chase her - either on foot or in a vehicle. Better to stop where you are, call her name, and sit on the ground showing you are no threat to her. Call Cheryl Dingle straight away & let her know Rosies location. Rosie was being transported to a duck farm in Victoria from her home in Lithgow in the Blue Mountains in December 2018, when she broke away from the transport company. ... She has been running North every since.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone, we are trying to find out who owns Maremmas in the Flowerdale area and if any other maremmas are missing? We have two recent sightings of a lost Maremma near the Flowerdale Pub, and we are trying to figure out if these sightings are our missing Rosie. If anyone has any information or can help us out, Please call Cheryl Dingle urgently on 04127 752 896.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone, just an update. As far as we know Rosie is still within the fence line of Puckapunyal. There are hundreds of Kangaroos in there, so she will be chasing them. Thanks

14.01.2022 There have been reports of a Maremma sitting on the side of the road between Maryborough and Carisbrook. I am trying to establish all the local Maremmas along this road and determine if this is our dog. If you have any information that can help me, please call Cheryl. Thanks Diane

14.01.2022 THIS IS NOT ROSIE this is a female dog named Zeta, her owner has her now. Thanks everyone for your help today. A MESSAGE FROM Cheryl Dingle This looks very much like Rosie. She was last seen in Mt Camel 4 weeks ago but she has also travelled through all of this country before so it is possible for her to come back this way again. She was originally lost at Broomfield and stayed around Yandoit for about a month. Please phone 0427752898 if seen ahain or if you can assist with searching

13.01.2022 THIS IS NOT ROSIE If you are in or around Blampied Victoria. Please keep an eye out for this dog. We think it might be her. Please DO NOT CHASE HER OR APPROACH HER, we are trying to get people down into this area right now.

12.01.2022 2 May 2019 Cheryl Dingle - Todays sightings proved very interesting as we have not heard anything since last Thurs. Basically 3 sightings one on a property in Dealba Lane Mt Camel and then about 30 mins later further down and heading towards National Park

11.01.2022 Terri Matheson - can you please call Cheryl urgently. I have sent you a pm. Thanks

10.01.2022 It has been a wonderful day. We know where Rosie has been staying and it has been confirmed. Please keep your eyes peeled around Axedale especially the Barnadown Knowsley road

09.01.2022 Now it does seem that yesterdays sighting is a dud. Yes this does happen a lot but usually it is all sorted before it is made public. The particular dog from yesterday is sort of lost. A man from Melb owns her but only visits once a week. He has had to sell all cows bar one and so the dog is left to wander. She is 3 years old. Thanks to Chelley for finding this bit of information. So basically last cofirmed sighting is 8 days ago on Tooborac Seymour road.

07.01.2022 Thanks everyone for the messages about the 4 Maremmas running at Heathcote Junction. This is not Rosie, we believe she is still up in the Heathcote, Mia MIa, Tooborac area. Might even be around Puckapunyal. Heathcote Junction is some distance away. Thanks for thinking of us though, we do appreciate it.

06.01.2022 If you see Rosie, please do not chase her or follow her. She will just bolt away. Ignore her and Call Cheryl immediately with your location. Thank you.

05.01.2022 The Maremma Sheepdog is a breed of livestock guardian dog indigenous to central Italy, where it has been used for centuries by Italian shepherds to guard sheep from wolves. They originally lived day and night with its flock, and was bred to take responsibility for keeping the flock safe. They would stay out with the flock for weeks if not months on end. They are bred to protect livestock, they are friendly to their family but aloof and wary of strangers. These dogs have a unique temperament and they DO NOT display behaviours that so many other breeds of dogs do. They have been selected to take responsibility and to make their own decisions in the absence of a master. This means that they want to make up their own minds, and decide for themselves, how best to deal with a potentially dangerous situation.

03.01.2022 Hi everyone If you have questions, need further information or have seen Rosie, please contact Cheryl. We have not had a sighting of her for some time. Please keep your eyes out for her. Thanks Diane.

02.01.2022 Thanks everyone for the messages about the 4 Maremma's running at Heathcote Junction. This is not Rosie, we believe she is still up in the Heathcote, Mia MIa, Tooborac area. 02.01.2022 Thank you everyone for messaging us about the dog in Flowerdale. From what I can find out, this is a male dog.

02.01.2022 UPDATE 7 May 2019 At about 4pm this afternoon a Maremma dog was seen running along Mt Camel Greytown Rd. Michele was quick on the scene. We think it is Rosie as this road is very close to the farm she was on last Sunday. She was apparently shacking all over, so she is very scared and freaked out atm.... Please dont chase her if you see her. CALL CHERYL IMMEDIATELY on 0427 752 898

01.01.2022 At roughly 5pm this evening a white dog was spotted by a worker inside Puckapunyal Army Base chasing kangaroos. This really sounds like Rosie but the Military Police just said it would be impossible for a dog to be undetected for a whole week. Thanks to those volunteers who went there anyway

01.01.2022 Rosie Update Cheryl Dingle needs to speak to anyone who lives along the Mt Camel Greytown Rd. We need to contact the owner of the land Rosie was seen on earlier this week. Please call Cheryl Dingle on 0427 752 898. thank you everyone.
