24.01.2022 This is a great way to empty the mind. Listen as far away as you can. See where your senses take you, and watch your attention expand your awareness. #gettingoutofyourhead #spaceawareness #mentalhealthsupport #natureisadoorway #listentothesilence

24.01.2022 Day 3 forest guided meditation: emptying the mind by connecting to the inner fluid body, sensing the boundaries of function, and opening up space. This will help still thoughts, bringing you back into the moment. This aids in feeling a sense of calm, and aims to restore bodily functions to balance.

23.01.2022 Having fun building a raised veggie bed out of all the reclaimed materials we have here at my home. You so can’t beat home grown produce, you just can’t... Gardening fanatic or not, it tastes better, has loads more nutrients, and keeps you connected with nature. I also believe it’s essential to do so without undue pressure on your back or your knees, so raised beds are really worth the investment, be it time or money. I’m back doing my day job tomorrow, and both Jamie and myself have a couple of spots free, so for any treatment needs get in touch. We’re keeping things going as much as possible, and here to supoort you however we can. #pandemiclife #raisedbedgardening #sustainableliving #osteopathyandnutrition

20.01.2022 So much collective change in the air. At the clinic we’ve decided to undergo some of our own reorganisation and with that has come a new name. Finding Health Osteopathy is about exactly that, finding health. Our objective is to see through the symptoms and collective noise surrounding our compromised state, so that we can find health and help bring it to the foreground of our function and our awareness. Finding health is the beginning and the end of every healing journey, as ...we unlock what is already present and allow the expression of what is inherently normal to move us. We come to understand that as life itself, we are being breathed and moved by forces that are intelligent, and capable of expressing the deepest of healing. Health is not a static thing, or a known endpoint. It can be partly seen as an animated expression of form, ever changing like a river, and constantly moving towards normal. Health is both a blueprint for healing and the emergence of healing itself into our complete physiology. We cannot own it, we cannot bottle it, we cannot sell it, and we certainly cannot buy it. Yet it is always present. Always dwelling within each individual expression of life. We can try to understand it, and we can even work with it. In many ways this is the sole objective of an osteopath. We can then perhaps help somebody else find something that they may have lost, or forgotten, or misplaced. Something that was always there. Something that is always waiting. Something that is always full of potential and power. Something that helped you grow from the beginning of conception. This opens the door to many questions. We hope to help bridge the gap in understanding these questions, and allow people to have their own autonomous relationship with what may help them return to a state of wellbeing. Health is a dynamic state, and needs to be respected as such. Conceptual understanding doesn’t prove itself in the same way that Osteopathy does. So we practice Osteopathy, in order to find the proof, and to see for ourselves that we all possess the most incredible gift of healing within us. #healinghands #osteopathicmedicine #findinghealth #youonlyeverhealyourself See more

20.01.2022 Both Jamie and Dale are working this week, as they have been over the past fortnight. Dale has restricted days still, and is in east geelong on Monday’s and Thursdays. Jamie is in Tuesday through to Saturday. Feel free to get in touch with any osteopathic needs. We’re here to assist your health and help you find your happy place. #happinessishealth #bewellwithosteopathy #findyourfreedom

18.01.2022 If you can’t run and jump like this you may need an osteopath to help you along Dale, Beth and Jamie are on hand until Christmas, with limited availability, so if you have any issues that need assistance or you just want to launch yourself into the water with full force this summer, come in for a tune up. #osteopathshelpstuffmove #morethanbiology #healthisfreedomtobeyou

18.01.2022 Spring means lots of change, inside and out. It’s like a Big Bang down here in the Otways. It’s a magical time to experience the sheer wonder and power of Mother Nature. The trees just power ahead with growth. The tempo can be overwhelming if we don’t have a restful daily practice. In some respects all the seasons are here now simultaneously, shifting from the background to the foreground. The seasons just keep moving, and so must we. To do this we all need some time to come ...back to stillness. It is the best medicine. Osteopathic Treatment can be a wonderful conduit to stillness, and the capacity for you to access rest so you can restore balance to physiology and function. Your growth, be it internal or external, is completely dependent on your capacity to rest, regardless of the season. Use this time in our current state of social restriction to empty your mind at some point of the day, so that you can keep growing and stay in balance with your environment. Utilise support where you find it, it’s much easier doing this dance called life when you have the support you need, at least until you no longer need it. #osteopathysupportinghealth #stillnessisthesecretsauce #findwhatworksforyou See more

18.01.2022 The wonder of the universe is so obvious and yet so easily missed in all the small things. Stop and rest somewhere. You may just find a friend like this little guy. We’re so often pushed to consistently move into doing without reprieve or repose. The Essence of rest is in being, and the essence of being is in rest. They merge out of one place and allow you to find a place where health can flow. It’s automatic, and given. But only when we choose to step out of the compulsive doing. What awaits us beyond is nothing short of magical #bedontdo #flowoflife #eternityisnow

13.01.2022 Day 6 forest contemplation: unknowing. Enter into a state of pure awareness. Rest here, and come to a further understanding of your true nature. Be met with inspiration, wonder, and a deep sense that all is well. This time of isolation calls us to remember the beauty of being alone, and find that in such solitude we are completely free. When we meet ourselves in this way, we sense we have all that we need, we feel warmth, joy, and we become filled with gratitude.

12.01.2022 Fire contemplation: heat, metabolism, and transmutation as an aspect of health at work within us. Hope you enjoy. Please feel free to leave any comments that come from this perceptual self-enquiry.

12.01.2022 Thinking of all those who are struggling with all the change. Now is a great time to be still, and quiet. Find something beautiful, let your attention rest there, and awareness will reveal itself in the moment. Here you will find peace. Here you can rest. May the light shine through you, like a fresh, radiant flower. #lightbeings #awarenessisnow #bestill #listeningtobeauty

10.01.2022 A flower opening, an opportunity to witness something magical, and transformative. A wonderful moment in time, the essence of life captured in a movement between form and formlessness. A reminder about how precious and fleeting life is, and the deep deep need we all have to stop and engage with the moment. Let the beauty speak to you, however it comes, so that your senses can be opened, and you may once again see a wholeness emerge as the foreground and the background in life become one movement. #wholenessiswhoyouare

10.01.2022 new clinic name and a new website - Finding Health Osteopathy is up and running!! https://mailchi.mp/0ddcaf/new-clinic-name-and-a-new-website

08.01.2022 Broccoli out of our garden the size of my head. Grown with love, and takes a little longer to come to maturity in the cooler otway. Love the Italian varieties. Next year I’ll incorporate some food and nutrition into some blogging and story telling, possibly in the form of a podcast. It’s part of a whole new focus on health and healing that will help people take some easy and positive steps towards self care and balance in their healing journey. #foodismedicine #osteopathyiswholeness #healingisajourney

08.01.2022 Day 4 forest contemplation: divided attention, posture, and the perfect form. As we work to improve our awareness of health, we’re going deeper and beginning to look at the relationship between perception and soma, mind and body. This exercise is building on previous explorations and understanding the power of attention. It is easy, short, and powerful.

05.01.2022 Last light stillness, full moon rising, gentle warmth of spring, an ocean landscape. Enough to make anyone feel blessed Breathing in I see beauty everywhere, breathing out I feel gratitude. Health is everywhere, especially in the so called little things Stop and stay a while. Rest in the pauses. #beautyisadoorway #restinnature #dogslovetoswiminthesea

04.01.2022 Day 5 forest contemplation: neutral mind, letting go of control and fear, observing with freedom. Now is the perfect invitation to let go into silence, into the moment, into what is. Utilise this opportunity. A neutral mind allows for the observer within to become unattached, and at ease. When we experience the inner peace that comes from becoming more neutral, we begin to find true freedom. Neutrality leads to a place of rest, immovable calm, and serenity.

03.01.2022 Summer is in swing down the coast, although the weather appears somewhat confused Mesnwhile I’ve helping my magical wife @betsy_blonde build her studio extension which is almost complete. Looks amazing, and so happy for her to have the extra elbow room. Thanks to Greg at otway home maintenance for all his help, Josh the sparky, Mick the plumber, and our good friend Ian @powerhousegeelong for the time and love they have all given. This project is close to our hearts afte...r enduring a very intense and challenging year both at home and also globally. Creativity is such a powerful antidote to ailments of the body, mind, and soul, and jackie is back thriving again in her private studio in the forest. Here she’s meeting our guests @longtideretreat and giving them some handmade jewellery they selected from her website to take with them on their travels. I’m back to the clinic treating as of Monday, and look forward to introducing some new practitioners and some wonderful changes to the space. Take care and celebrate all the small things. May you find peace in them and in yourself. See more

03.01.2022 Wild weekend up here in the octagon no shortage of rainbows popping up, a sign that the wet weather and shorter days are here for a while. Lucky we love it and feel appreciative of the seasonal change. A sense of slow relief is in the air, around the whole lock-down pandemic situation. There is light appearing at the end of the iso tunnel. I hope you have had a chance to rest and use this quieter opportunity for more stillness and inner peace. It’s really needed, for everyone. I’m treating patients from Skenes creek on Wednesday’s and Fridays, and geelong Monday’s and Thursdays. Jamie is also available most days in Geelong. Take care, and feel free to get in touch for any osteopathic needs. #isotimes #osteopathyisntjustbones #healingjourney #resting

03.01.2022 Around a month ago Beth and myself lost a dear friend and mentor James Jealous D.O. He was our teacher and guide for over 15 years. We planted this beautiful tree in his memory. In time, I would like to share some things about him, so perhaps I’ll post a blog on the website for people to read. It’s such a gift to have a mentor and Jim was the very best you could wish for. We’ve lost his physical presence, but gained the full essence of his eternal spirit which moves freely in the ocean of wholeness. Thank you Jim, you really gave us your all, and showed us the way forward. We’re eternally grateful for everything.

01.01.2022 Feeling pandemic burn out? Come in for a treatment, we will help ease the tension, body and mind. Jamie and Dale are working with all the precautions taken care of. We’re meeting patients in the car park, and making sure there’s minimal to no cross over interaction within the clinic. Extra cleaning continues, and extra time is taken to clean and sanitise the room after each patient. Fresh towels and pillow cases are provided, as always. Door handles and surfaces are regularly disinfected. We’re good to go! See you soon for some mind/body space and ease in these crazy crazy times. #easethetension #osteopathicmedicine #pandemicburnout #lookafteryourselfnooneelsewill

01.01.2022 Happy Spring to all! we’ve been MIA in the socials for quite some time now. For reasons known to some, it was time for myself and Jackie to take a prolonged break and focus on the things that are most important to us. We’ve both had some time to rest and recover, and now we’re ready to gently work our way back into some routine. Work for us is not exactly that, but nevertheless there are times where the focus has to be solely on ones own health. Without stating the obvious..., it’s been a crazy year for most people. Our comfort zone has been shaken to the core, and it is our hope that the challenges we all face are seen as the lessons needed to create growth and change. Although we may experience this as individuals, it is the effect on the consciousness of humanity as a whole that now has the potential to blossom like a flower in the springtime so please take care of each other and let nature remind you to embrace the change that life brings to everything, so the inside may change too. #change #health #lifeeverchanging See more
