23.01.2022 Calling all ARTISTS! If like me, you are often sceptical about signing petitions, I ask you to please take the time to read this one. Our arts workers are currently being denied access to the job keeper payment due to the nature of our contract work. Many go from contract to contract without needing an ABN so they aren’t recognised as sole traders. Our industry cannot recover without assistance, and once this is all over, the world will need the Arts industry to help us connect and be whole again.

16.01.2022 ACCIO HP ROBES! We are all set for our Easter Holidays Workshop - HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD! Bookings are now closed, Hogwarts Letters have been sent (check your Inboxes), we’re packing our trunks and are off to Platform 9 3/4 tomorrow!... Your what-to-bring list was included in your Hogwarts letter EXCEPT, if you’re a messy painter (like me), bring an old shirt as well to swap for your HP robe and cover up your theatre blacks. Ollivander wore an apron when making wands and we probably should too! If you haven’t been able to find a robe, you still have time! Target, Big W, Kmart, Spotlight and DIY Party Supplies all have them and you don’t need it on the first day anyway! Don’t forget your lunch, snack & water bottle but most importantly, the train leaves for Hogwarts at 10am so don’t be late. ‘Best to do it at a bit of a run if you’re nervous!’. See you tomorrow! 07.01.2022 I live in a small regional town with ZERO recorded community transfer cases of Covid 19. All of our cases were people who caught it somewhere else and came here. Our ‘curve’ was flat from the start! Until today, I thought that the CovidSafe App was redundant in a safe place like my little town. Today I realized THIS APP IS THE TOOL THE GOVT ARE TRYING TO USE TO EASE RESTRICTIONS NATION-WIDE!... I want to go back to teaching face to face. I want to go back to rehearsals for Mamma Mia or any other musical or play we’re doing. I want my Book Club play readings to be face to face. I want my local theatre to be able to have a full cast in the close-quarters that is backstage. Ad campaigns around the world have been saying ‘We’re all in this together’. That doesn’t just mean we’re emotionally supporting each other, it means doing WHATEVER it takes... including downloading an app. Edit... the app stores your name, age range and post code on your phone and you have to consent to further information being used if you get Covid 19 so they can trace other people you’ve come into contact with during your incubation period so they can be tested. #COVID19

02.01.2022 I’m already registered.... are you? I have thoroughly enjoyed working on the past 3 OQ Community Chorus Projects and highly recommend it. Even if you have never tried opera or don’t think you’re a classical singer, give it a go, you might surprise yourself and have a great time doing so.
