15.01.2022 So Fine Affairs Catering was contacted by a client to see if I would be prepared to make a cake for a significant birthday. The back story is that the Birthday Man lives in Melbourne and his family lives in Queensland. His Mum contacted her friend in Melbourne who put the call out. My client friend suggested I might make the cake. The Mum sent me the recipe of Birthday Man’s favourite White Chocolate Cheesecake. Cheesecake was made and partially decorated and left on our front verandah (for 15 minutes) before a phone call from Mum’s Melbourne friend who then collected it. The Melbourne friend today completed the decorations I provided and took it to the Birthday Man who was very touched his Mum went to such an effort. It was a lovely thing to be involved in. Covid-19 interstate co-operation.

13.01.2022 Tonight’s Chicken Noodle Soup was a joint effort. Derek chopped all the veggies since I still can’t and I stirred, single-handedly pulled the chicken off the carcass & added the seasoning & noodles!

04.01.2022 It’s a battle between the rosellas & me for my pomegranates. I’ve harvested about 12 so far. (To de-seed: Cut them in half, place cut side on palm and whack the curved side with a wooden spoon over a container in the sink. Cover with water and any excess pith rises to the surface.) They can be frozen in ziplock bags.
