And if you're an employee who has been affected, ask you employer if they are eligible. For more info check out the Fact Sheet at https://treasury.gov.au//Fact_sheet_Info_for_Employers_0.p

20.01.2022 Theres so much info online these days about branding and copy but there can be more value in getting together with other business owners and sharing ideas and challenges face to face. 19.01.2022 How do you network? Do you use the Meetup App? If you do, Ive just started a new group for Peninsula & surrounding folks called The Ninch Talks. Big goal is to create a community to support our local businesses and business owners. So, join up and lets rock this community. If you dont know about Meetup, especially if youre a biz owner, get on it! Its a great way to find local networking groups likeminded folks to catch up with and talk about your biz, life, new ...ideas and new ways of doing things you know all the small stuff. And networking doesnt have to be a bunch of stuffy suits sitting around a table flicking out biz cards (although those groups are still out there). It can also be a fun way to get stuff off your chest over coffee, wine, whatever. If youd like the heads up on some good networking groups that Ive found really helpful, PM me.

17.01.2022 It takes a community to run a successful small business - customers & clients to purchase your product or services AND your tribe to encourage and support you to reach your goals. Fine Balance Accounting aims to provide a community of support to Peninsula businesses by bringing amazing presenters down to us - to inform, invigorate and inspire us in our own local setting. For the inaugural Fine Balance Presents, we will hear from Ildi Racz from Antplanners on the Blueprint to Life-Work Harmony. While I can help you Love Your Numbers, Ildi can help you Love Your Time.

16.01.2022 Love Redgum BBQ and Commonfolk Coffee, so very interested in hearing from these businesses about their mission to do GOOD business.

15.01.2022 What magic things have you found that have made your life easier? I've just got my little mits on one of these Rocketbooks. I have no idea how they've achieved such magic ... its like something out of the back of the Hanna Barbera comics from the '70s ... like the xray vision goggles that you could get for $3.99 if you sent money to the US or something like that. So you write on them, photograph the page and it uploads to wherever you want it to, then you wipe the page cle...an with a damp cloth and reuse. So I never need to buy another notebook again. How bloody good is that! And don't worry Chelsea Aldridge I've still got my normal paper as well Rocketbook Australia

15.01.2022 If you lodge your tax return through a tax agent, make sure they are registered with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and protect your myGov details ... there's some sneaky folks out there ... The TPB have recently been working closely with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and police to investigate an unregistered tax agent services provider. The investigation led to an arrest following complaints received from taxpayers that were referred to the TPB in December 2018. Du...ring the investigation, and through evidence provided by the police and the ATO, they discovered that the unregistered preparer targeted the backpacker community. Unsuspecting clients provided their MyGov details, and subsequently discovered their refunds were paid directly into the unregistered preparers bank account. In many cases, the work-related expenses reported by the clients were significantly overstated. This case highlights how important it is for taxpayers to ensure their tax agent is registered with the TPB. It also acts as a caution and reminder to consumers to ensure they protect their myGov details.

07.01.2022 What resources does the Mornington Peninsula Shire have to support local businesses? Disappointingly, compared to other councils around us, doesn't seem they do much. How can we change this? Ideas anyone?? 07.01.2022 As a business owner, wife and mum, life is hectic. The to-do list seems never-ending; emails are hitting the inbox faster than we can read them; social media to keep on top off; and somewhere in that mix there's actually a business to run. Overwhelm, distractions, procrastination - how do we deal with life and work while keeping some semblance of sanity? Grab a ticket to the Love Your Time Workshop to learn how to make friends with your own time, rather than batting it.

05.01.2022 This week I had a friend come to me in tears saying that she had her super stolen! After many questions, we worked out that she had signed up to an array of insurance products many years ago when she joined the Fund. She never read the Welcome Pack; never read any of the annual statements; never logged onto her account. Completely disengaged. She had no idea that most of her employer super contributions were being eaten up each year by insurance premiums. Now insurance ha...s a place, but you need to understand what youre paying for. Her comment Well who reads all that shit anyway? How can they expect you to read all that paperwork? Yes, our superannuation system is complicated, but the basics are this you work; your employer pays the super contribution to your nominated Fund; your superfund invests YOUR money on YOUR behalf & hopefully they do a good job. YOU pay THEM to manage this & THEY charge YOU. You know what that means? THEY work for YOU. So, get your moneys worth. If you have a question about your super, call them. Create the member login and check out your account. Update your death benefit nomination. Check your insurance coverage. Engage with your super! ITS YOUR MONEY Just because you cant touch it yet, doesnt mean you shouldnt show it love and understanding. And if its all too much, reach out to someone else to help you to understand it. Your older self will thank you.

02.01.2022 So our next workshop falls on the school holidays and you'd just loooove to come but don't know what to do with the munchkins. No worries ... bring them along! I'll set up some activities to keep them occupied while you pick up some tips on getting your branding and copywriting sorted. Our tribe also includes our kids and that's cool
