25.01.2022 Parkrun Legends! Parkrun events need volunteers and time is running out to fill the roster for this coming weekend. If you can help out with any of the below positions and dates, please either comment below, message or send us an email. If you need motivation, just think about how amazing you could look in the orange vest Thank you to all those who have already volunteered!
23.01.2022 Must have been a little wet and I know some ran on the sand, as the times are a little slower this week, except for Guy who could have put in a bit more of an effort to beat his PB, but equalled it instead. Welcome two more to the 20 club, Todd and Michelle. Hopefully we don't get to a 30 tshirt..... Thanks again to Jennifer from joining us from Canada and we welcome Emma back to the Bay. EDIT: Matts time 23:55. It must rain around this time in the Bay, check out the photo from last year (minus 1 week)... yes I was Run Director and it belted down.
22.01.2022 Our unique Fingal Bay QR code is also attached. There will be plenty available for you to scan at parkrun on Saturday but if you want to check-in in your car or at home before you come, please feel free to do so, or if you forget to check-in at parkrun you can check-in when you get home. Check-in is mandatory and by coming along to parkrun and participating you need to check-in, this assists us to meet NSW Government public health requirements and parkrun has agreed to these terms in order to return to our beloved parkrun. NOTE: There is no provision for check-in by other means, you may have someone else check-in for you.
22.01.2022 In New South Wales, the COVID-19 Policy Team, Public Health Response Branch NSW Ministry of Health have reviewed our application and put this forward to the Minister. We are currently awaiting an outcome and will provide a further update as soon as we are in a position to do so. One step closer...
21.01.2022 With the weather conditions expected today and tomorrow I will check the course later today and make a decision as to whether the event will go ahead tomorrow. I will confirm we are proceeding or cancel the event by 7pm this evening. Your RD for tomorrow - Mike
21.01.2022 A few more pics.
20.01.2022 As we await news for our restart ( each week it's closer I am sure), I am keen to lock in a few people who would be happy to volunteer in the first few weeks once we restart. If you are willing to volunteer drop us a line at [email protected] letting us know what job you are happy to do and if there is any date you can't volunteer. We will slot you into the roster but if it ends up you can't do the role just let us know. We will need more volunteers under the COVID plans, so if you are keen to get back into parkrunning maybe you can volunteer to get it back up and running. Thanks, yours in parkrunning

18.01.2022 Batch #3 - Sorry I didn’t catch everyone - I was a bit slow in getting my phone out my pocket sometimes. Well done to all. Good to see so many smiling faces.

15.01.2022 A lot of pressure at the top of the table today with another beautiful running day in the Bay. Ken hits the top today with a virtual and parkrun PB. Another notable performance goes to Cola Grant, I've decided Adam must slow her down as Claire ran with her today and she got a PB...and she gets her V5 T-shirt. A couple of first timers, welcome Deb and Jed with Jed only being six he will be putting some of you under pressure on the track. Thanks for keeping the parkrun communit...y alive and we will hopefully see you back in real life sometime in the near future. Extra cred goes to Adam who virtually for us yesterday. Edit, Rick and I did run it just seems the pdf table missed us off
15.01.2022 Some AWESOME runs this week with smashed virtual PBs by Charlotte, Cola, and Jennifer, Charlotte even snuck in a parkrun PB, it will be great to see you all back on the track. Other notable mentions this week are the crew that did the Ferleigh Track yesterday with Colleen and Vicky cracking out 30km, their longest runs, well-done ladies. Welcome back to Joanne - a couple more for your pink V5 t-shirt.... One day closer to re-opening.... Have an awesome week
15.01.2022 Another beautiful day for running in the Bay and a few other places around, as our parkrunners get to visit other areas, with Jennifer again winning the distance away from Fingal with a lovely run in Victoria BC in Canada. Accolades are for Guy and Marion this who both achieved a PB and Guy edging so close to that recorded 20 min mark. Guess where Donna was this week... see the photo! Have a great week fellow parkrunners, see you on the track
14.01.2022 Hi everyone we are well into January now and people are getting back to their favourite parkruns. Fingal Bay is an amazing parkrun which can't operate without volunteers, so if you enjoy your parkrun and you want to keep it going, we ask that you consider volunteering a few times each year to give back and give some of the core team an opportunity to have a run. Please have a look at the roster and if you can help out please let us know here on facebook what date and role you... would like and your barcode number to make sure we find the correct person. You can also send us a list of your volunteer preferences for the whole year in email and we will gladly slot you in for your preferred task and date :-) Looking forward to hearing from you, link to the vacant looking roster is attached. https://www.parkrun.com.au/fingalbay/futureroster/
12.01.2022 The latest update from parkrun Australia. ://blog.parkrun.com/au/2020/10/15/parkrun-australia-covid-19-coronavirus-update-16-october/ New South Wales (NSW)... Under the current NSW Health COVID Safe Plan for community sport organisations, the participant limit is 500 people. Three of our events in NSW consistently average between 600 and 700 participants and as such we are unable to comply with this requirement. We have therefore requested an exemption. Additionally, NSW Health requires all participants to be provided with hand sanitiser. Under our COVID-19 Framework, which is publicly available here, we commit to providing hand sanitiser to all volunteers. However, it is our belief that making additional sanitiser available to walkers and runners will lead to unnecessary queues and less physical distancing before and after the event. Our Framework describes in detail how our events will operate to reduce the time people spend in close proximity to each other, which includes encouraging walkers and runners to bring their own hand sanitiser. This is how all our events around the world that have reopened are operating. We have therefore requested we reopen our events in NSW with this procedure in place. Our proposal is currently being reviewed by the Minister for Health, Brad Hazzard.
12.01.2022 With a couple of very noticeable absences today, the top of the chart has a different flavour.... Well done Charlotte on being top of the pops today and also picking up your V5 t-shirt. Accolades also go to Colleen who consistently beats her Fingal Bay parkrun PB and Donna who needed to move that little bit faster 1 sec off her virtual PB. Hats off to Todd and Michelle who did their parkrun up a mountain...well 500m elevation anyway, well done team.
12.01.2022 All seasons in one for some of the runs yesterday, started out wet and windy, finished sunny and no wind for some of the crew...how did you fare? Big congratulations to Ken for getting the accolades today with a top of the chart and a PB, Michelle not to be bested also cracked out a PB, well done Ken and Michelle. Welcome to the 20 club to Guy and Colleen and to the 5 club Marion. Emma smashed her time from this time last year and Tammy managed to crack one out faster than last year. Well done to you all for getting out there and keeping our virtual parkrun alive. Sorry Charlotte, I notice I've given you a green shirt.... maybe pink next week :-)
11.01.2022 Owing to the weather forecast and the condition of track I am cancelling tomorrow's parkrun. I expect we will be back in business next weekend. Wishing you all safe travel over this weekend.
11.01.2022 More from 23 Jan
11.01.2022 New South Wales (NSW) The COVID-19 Policy Team, Public Health Response Branch NSW Ministry of Health reviewed our application and put this forward to the Minister who has requested additional information. 10.01.2022 First installment- Congratulations to all who took part in today’s rather wet parkrun. Quote of the day was ‘That’s not rain, they are drops of encouragement’ - Donna Abraham
10.01.2022 Hi everyone, as you know we have been trialling a revised track since we have returned from our COVID pause. We have trialled the new track to improve safety on the course. With 5 parkruns now under the revised course we are looking for feedback. Since the return, we have received both positive and negative feedback and we want to make sure that we continue with the safest option moving forward. If you have completed the revised track and would like to provide some feedback, ...would you please complete the attached survey. https://survey.app.do/pg/fingal-bay-parkrun-revised-track Thank you
10.01.2022 Installment 3 - Thanks for the photos Jo.
10.01.2022 Thanks to everyone for getting out there again this weekend, it was a lovely day for a trot. Adam and Cola top of the pops this week, these two just keep getting better each week. A big shout out to Marion as well, she is starting to get her groove on, with a nice virtual PB this week, I reckon her parkrun PB is in her sights. And a DNF for Tammy, who decided to blow her calf at the 3 1/2km mark, but I put her on the list as she was out there giving it a go :-) Thanks to all of you for joining in... still waiting on news of our return, but it has to be one day closer....

07.01.2022 Shout out to those who might be able to assist this weekend, and in the following weeks. We are very short on names in the volunteer roster, so if you appreciate parkrun please consider volunteering all the jobs are simple. This week we are looking for some Marshals and Barcode scanners and even a photographer if you feel inclined. https://www.parkrun.com.au/fingalbay/futureroster/
06.01.2022 The accolades this week go to Colleen with a VPB and a PRPB, can't wait to officially get back on the track to see how these PBs fall. A special mention to Michelle who equalled her VPR.
06.01.2022 Well done to all of you who got out there yesterday before it got too warm, look after yourselves in this heat. Accolades this week to Charolette who matched her virtual PB, which also beats her parkrun PB. Donna who got a virtual PB and also beat her time from last year, Guy who was almost 4 min faster than last year (but I think he was a 25min pacer last year), Ken who is fairly new to this parkrun game, is two minutes faster than his parkrun PB. The biggest cheerio goes t...o Joanne who picked up her V5 t-shirt yesterday, well done Jo. Thanks for keeping the spirit of parkrun alive guys and hopefully (yes I know I say this each week) the real thing is not too far away, I can't wait to see you all in person again. yours in parkrunning Rick and Tammy
05.01.2022 Hi guys, we are looking a pretty light on ‘orange-bib-wearing-superheroes’ aka ‘vollies’ over the next few weeks, including this coming Saturday (9 Jan) - see pic below. If you love your parkrun and want to see it return each week, please consider volunteering. Let us know here on Facebook or drop us an email at [email protected] https://www.parkrun.com.au/fingalbay/futureroster/
05.01.2022 Hi parkrunners. There are still lots of volunteer positions available for this coming Saturday 13th March. If you are able to help please drop a comment or message. If we can’t get volunteers we can’t have an event. Please assist in making our event great.

04.01.2022 Check your pockets peeps, event barcode 143 and 153 have headed off on an adventure and we would really love them to stay with us, please let us know if you see these two adventurers so we can get them back home.
01.01.2022 The information provided below is an excerpt from the parkrun Australia COVID-19 (coronavirus) update. New South Wales (NSW) NSW Health updated its framework for community sport organisations on 24 September. Whilst a small number of our events will sometimes exceed the participant limit of 500 people, we have submitted our COVID-19 Framework to the Minister for Health, Brad Hazzard, and are working with the government to understand if there is a way for all of our events in... NSW to open. We might be getting closer to reopening. Note we will have at least two weeks' notice of reopening. NT has recommenced and there is a start date for Tassie and WA, so fingers crossed. In preparation for reopening, I will seek volunteers in an up and coming post. There will be a few changes around roles for volunteers and also for participants, so bear with us while we prepare for a return. https://blog.parkrun.com//parkrun-australia-covid-19-coro/
