04.01.2022 Awesome /s()m/ adjective: awesome 1. Extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring awe. 2. Slang. very impressive: Used in a sentence ‘The Finley Tractor Pull... was totally awesome’. What a day, what a track and what a crowd. Credit where it is due followers, these lads really know how to put on a show. The track conditions can only be described as perfect and the weather all day remained magnificent. How many pull centers have a dustless, yes dustless track all day? Action started with a good field of minis going around for a pull off. The mighty Ruptured Duck III remained dominant all day and was unable to be caught. Solid pulling from Rockabilly made it clear he’s here to compete, watch out for him at Waaia. A notable absence from the podium was Beats Work’n which caused quite the controversy. Maybe bring your own fuel next time, 98 octane works best in awesome LS Engines (see championship ladder for confirmation). Fresh Dirt was consistent with its new driver completing her first full event and has Beats Work’n in her sights, well done Susan. The Super Mini's had two tractors in the field. Jaws had changed ownership between Tooradin & Finley. Wayne is the new owner and has teamed up with Tommy's Toy out of Young NSW. Outlaw mini’s always please the crowd and true to form laid it on thick. Tommy’s toy is on the boil and man is it sounding sweet, a good chassis and engine combo making it the one to beat. However, there’s a new bloke on the street ready to throw a fifty on the track. Reloaded made its return to pulling and did that bring back some memories for a few. New driver Jake Cornfoot gave it everything, not bad, good drive, bit loud was the word on the street!!!! Driven to perfection, watch out for this lad at Waaia people. People often ask the Roving Reporter how to you gain inspiration for these excellent event reports? I tell them, stand next to the fearsome Riverina Screamer when its hooked up and on song. That will do it for most blokes! Joe didn’t disappoint and what a great day to do it. With his family in attendance cheering from the banks the Screamer did her thing and proved that the years of innovation and determination have been worth it. Full steam to the end with his legendary unorthodox fist pump signifying ultimate success. Can’t wait to see how the battle between the Screamer and Coyote turns out at Waaia, watch this space! Another really cool addition to the Finley pull was the return of a crowd favorite Major Kaboom. Albert has handed the keys to son Peter and boy is he making up for lost time. Competing in the Pro Stock B class it sure puts on a show. The Roving Reporter just happened to be in the middle of the track during one of its runs when it started veering towards the center at warp speed. Right foot, left brake, full noise was engaged and with a hefty angry grunt it swung back in line on one back wheel. Fantastic vision from the Major! The Pro Stock opens did their thing and one run in particular reset the clocks for the fastest run in history. Hooking up and launching in a style never seen before. Absolutely awesome competition from the two green weapons that never disappoint. Finley continues to be a significant event on the calendar and one that provides spectators and competitors with a value for money experience. Thanks to their small and dynamic committee for making it happen time and time again. **A disclaimer about the lack of information on the 2wd trucks and limited modified in this report. 828 was tasked with this job and with sharpened crayon and butchers paper went about scribing a simple yet informative piece about the ongoing close pulling, Flat Stick getting a first, Full Throttle keeping them honest, Shillberite feeling the heat from Deere Diff etc. Unfortunately the Roving Reporter neglected to collect said scribble before it was washed in a race suit pocket. Apologies from 828. Waaia is next on the circuit 14th March gates open at 3.00pm pulling at 4.00. Check out their socials for details as well as the Down Under MTPA website for championship standings. Roving '2nd place' Reporter signing off.

02.01.2022 And they’re rolling in #fullthrottle
