25.01.2022 For those who haven’t recently checked out the Sea Adex page, here is their latest build. These guys built the Finz Boat and just keep producing more and more amazing weapons.
25.01.2022 They call them chicken of the sea. One of the biggest Albacore I’ve seen in my time especially for Sydney.
24.01.2022 Still plenty of good Snapper around for those interested in travelling about 10-12 miles. Today is the first day that Finz would have been on the water if not for the weather (blowing its ass out who would have guessed!). We are now taking bookings and have new guidelines for boat hire. The good news is that the boat capacity is back up to 4 people maximum under social distancing guidelines. Most of the long weekend is booked but there is some availability over the remainder of the school holidays. We have added the extra conditions of hire in relation to Covid-19 on our website. https://www.finzboathire.com.au/terms-conditions
23.01.2022 A few Yellowfin and Albacore kicking around off Sydney at present. This is one we got around the 30-35kg mark during the week on ‘Black Panther’. Also a few kings starting to make an appearance on the deeper reefs out the front. Finz is off the water most likely for the next fortnight for some scheduled maintenance. We’ll be back early September. September normally offers a wide variety of choices from Snapper and Kings to Tuna and deep drop species like Blueye and Gemfish.
22.01.2022 Couple of nice ones from JB... Giddy Up!!!
22.01.2022 Bluewater bound! Will report if anything. No pressure Tony Elias.
20.01.2022 Some good boating weather coming this weekend particularly Sunday. At this stage we are still operating under restrictions for the time being 2 people from seperate addresses or 4 people from the same address. The fishing is very good with plenty of Kingfish and Snapper within range on Botany Bay or Port Hacking.
19.01.2022 The boys with a few Dollies today off the Fads in Finz. Lots of smaller ones in between and big seas but they got a feed.
18.01.2022 This is good news!
17.01.2022 Finz back on the water!
17.01.2022 Have a look at these awesome little weapons. Shockwave S5 suspension seat bases. Available initially for our long range hires but also at various other stages throughout season.Still a few Tuna about, the Finz Boat got this and lost a bigger one during the week. Some bigger fish getting about but weather doesn’t look too good for the next week.
15.01.2022 The last week whilst Finz is off the water we have been brushing up on our Snapper skills. I’ve had the little tinny (not for hire) out from Port Hacking with Tony last week and today with Mark. Tony went on a friends boat today and got some stonkers. You really have to move around to find the fish and have some fresh bait. Here’s a few fish from the last week. There were a few other better catches as well. Finz will be back on the water Saturday week and Snapper should be around for a while yet. We are starting to take bookings from the 25th September for those looking to get out.
15.01.2022 More kingfish today for the boys on Finz. Omar, Mo and Matthew with this nice King taken while downrigging. Well done guys!
08.01.2022 I fished yesterday with Tony Elias, my brother Peter and his mate Yohan. Pretty quiet day out wide north of Sydney. We spent a fair bit of time traveling to find some water with a little bit of life in it. Found an ok edge running east to west south of the Norah Canyons so stuck with it and got this 2530kg Yellowfin for Yohan. We may be coming to the end of this particular bite so Kingfish and Snapper will be the target. Hopefully we get a decent run of Kingfish outside the Harbour this year.
07.01.2022 Plenty of these guys around at the moment. Need to get there early though!
07.01.2022 A little bit of Marlin footage from a few weeks ago to get the heart pumping. We have been enjoying our trips out over recents weeks albeit with only one or two people on board. We are happy to say we are slowly returning back to normal operation but in a slightly altered capacity. We have the boat available weekends and some weekdays (with 24 hours notice). The operating times: Botany Bay 6:00am - 3:30pm Syd. Harbour 6:00am - 3:00pm. The above time frames allow for the clea...ning and sterilising of the boat in preparation for our next hire whilst there is still daylight left. There will also be strict rules in relation to the vessel hire capacity: 1. 2 people max. of different residential addresses; or 2. Up to 4 people max. of the same family of the same address. Each person will need to be able to provide photo identification to prove they are of the same address. We understand this limits some fishing trips between friends and family members but we hope this will only be a short term arrangement and hires can go back to normal when social distancing rules are eased. For those looking to hire that can comply with social distancing restrictions May will be the opportune time to grab the last of the Dolphin Fish off the Fads as well as some Autumn/Winter Kings from the deeper reefs of Sydney. We look forward to seeing some great catches over coming weeks. See more
07.01.2022 With another week of less than average weather forecast the question on all game fisho's minds will be if and when the Southern Bluefin Tuna will come up the coast and possibly to Sydney. They seem patchy again this year for the commercials thus far and to me aren't following a pattern that in previous years meant they were easily tracked up the coast. Still, there is so much we need to learn about the migratory instinct of these fish as sometimes this means they come when th...e water doesn't look to support it. I personally can't see a Sydney run this year but I also will not completely right it off. There is water for them very wide and south of Sydney at the moment if any fish have made there run through as yet. The good news if they don't come is that the Yellowfin continue to bite well. Good numbers of fish from Ulladulla to Bermagui and only a fortnight ago good fish north off Forster and Port Stephens. That water is now off Sydney so we may get a run of Yellowfin Tuna to keep us occupied. For those not into the long days and the long travel involved in Tuna fishing there are Kingfish off and on at The Peak off Botany Bay. This should continue through the colder months and all the way into Spring with some fish up to the metre mark being taken. Have a backup plan in case the fish aren't biting - maybe some reef and sand species. Snapper are also a good option for those willing to travel a little down to Stanwell Park and Bellambi south of Sydney. Best bet is to move around until you find fish. We are currently taking bookings for 3 people from separate residences or up to 5 from the same household.
05.01.2022 When your Sunday Hire cancels... late decision to head north and the punch out 55km. By 1:30pm we had hooked nine fish, lost a couple and kept 4 between 30-45kg. Also lost a donkey of a fin boat side first up around 60-70kg - must be getting rusty in my old age! A day I will remember for a very long time - even fought one or two fish myself which is very rare these days.
03.01.2022 If you’re into Squid check out Dave Austin’s page for great tips and gear. The guys did well considering boat left at 8:30 and returned by 3:00pm.
02.01.2022 Good Evening, We are selling our 2017 - 250hp Suzuki XL model with cable throttle. This motor has around 1950 completely hassle free hours. There would be at least 30% idling and 30% trolling hours on this engine. Serviced meticulously by our loca Suzuki dealer South Sydney Marine. This motor has never skipped a beat and starts first go every go. I have done preventative maintenance to keep it this way. This motor is used weekly and kept on a trailer out of the water and flu...shed after every use. I am selling to update to the latest Suzuki 2021 model. Plenty of hours left in this motor with original almost unblemished SS prop. A few light scratches on the motor housing that will polish off. Happy to do a water test in Botany Bay for serious buyer. Available mid Feb. See more
