24.01.2022 So today is the start of a bright new future - Henderson Freelance Media has officially launched! If you need any media services, including copy writing, proof reading, media liaison, press releases, social media support, brochure or newsletter writing and design or digital content, you can contact me at www.hendersonmedia.com.au, or email me at [email protected] or call on 0423 089 415. Looking forward to hearing from you!

23.01.2022 Henderson Freelance Media (aka me) spoke to Damascus College VCAL students recently about magazine and newspaper production and gave them some story and design ideas for one they are putting together themselves. Look out for it when it comes out - they had some great ideas!

21.01.2022 The countdown is on to my new venture. I'm getting excited - but also feeling a little nostalgic!

21.01.2022 So who has bragging rights after today - me or the BF?

19.01.2022 We have a milestone celebration in our household this week!

18.01.2022 Please follow this link for a very moving look at the amazing work of one of my client's Ballarat Hospice Care. And thank you to Dom Cansdale at ABC Ballarat for not only doing a great job but for working so well with Maree and her family over an extended period of time. http://www.abc.net.au//ballart-hospice-care-for-th/9700292

15.01.2022 Very proud to have written this story about a lot of very special people - the Ballarat Hospice Care Inc. counsellors who are so dedicated to their work and to the amazing Marion, Tessa and Mick who all opened their homes and hearts to me about the toughest time in their lives. You are all incredible and it was a privilege to write this for you.

13.01.2022 For followers of That's Life, it is continuing on both my website, www.hendersonmedia.com.au, and my professional Facebook page. Hope you enjoy my first one! http://hendersonmedia.com.au/that-s-life-column

12.01.2022 Just heading off into the great outdoors for Easter - enjoy your break everyone and here's a bit of light pre-holiday reading!

12.01.2022 Sorry it's a bit late folks but here's my new hobby!

10.01.2022 Loving my new life as a freelance media specialist. Very interesting networking breakfast at Saxon House on Lake Wendouree this morning and a lovely lunch at the home of one of my clients, the North Ballarat Football Club. #hendersonfreelancemedia

10.01.2022 We've been off on another camping trip guys - read about our adventures here! http://www.hendersonmedia.com.au/that-s-life-column

10.01.2022 Time to remember some of the old characters I've worked with - and there's been a few!

08.01.2022 I've been getting a bit of extra testosterone of late - here's why!

07.01.2022 So it's time to end one very long, fulfilling chapter and begin a new exciting one.

06.01.2022 So one year ago today I started Henderson Freelance Media. It's been a massive year of challenges and I've enjoyed each and every one of them (okay Daz, maybe not tax times!) I would just like to thank everyone who has supported me along the way, including Darren Watkins (if you ever want to start a business, I can certainly vouch for his expertise. I'd be broke without him!), Laura Cartledge (comic relief) and Abbey Cartledge (hugs relief). Thank you also to: Gloria Turner -... for being my partner in crime at Ballarat Hospice Care. I will miss your words of wisdom. Mel Shoe - for trusting me to write about the very important subject of workplace mental health (Check out superfriend.com.au) Leash Thomas, Karen Keast, Marcus Power, Michael Walker, Robbie Cullenward, Checca Carter, Nicole Dickinson, Emma Williams, Amy Rhodes and Cam Gray for keeping on wanting Boomerang back. You guys are the best! And to all my family and friends who have supported me along the way. It's been a great 12 months and I'm looking forward to an even busier 2018!

05.01.2022 Can't believe I've never been to ChillOut before - it was so much fun!

05.01.2022 Do we really need to sanitise our fairytales? http://www.hendersonmedia.com.au/that-s-life-column

05.01.2022 I've been working with the absolutely marvellous Mel Shoe at SuperFriend Mental Health Foundation, a national organisation focused on helping employers create mentally healthy workplaces. Here is my first piece for them - a newsletter article providing employers with simple ways to help their employees with mental health self-care.

04.01.2022 The lengths Kate Healy, Melanie Whelan and I will go to to get a great pic. Awesome publicity shot for my client, Ballarat Hospice Care, though! Get on this year's Ballarat Autumn Day Ride - funds raised will help the Give to Help Hospice Grow Appeal!

02.01.2022 Well it's been a while since I posted anything but that's mainly because I've been so busy! For example, I helped write a Regional Health Infrastructure Fund application that allowed one of my clients to receive much needed funding for a new palliative care hub here in Ballarat. I have also been working with national mental health foundation SuperFriend to promote all the great work they do around positive mental health messaging in the workforce, including attending mental h...ealth training sessions and retirement information sessions. And I have been working on and off in local government communications, including some pretty intense days and nights helping to write some lobbying documents for both state and federal government delegations. It's been busy but I'm loving my new life as a freelance journalist. I'll keep you posted on what's next! See more
