19.01.2022 Shedding the Shield Detail showing the side of the headpiece that I completed last year for my graduating exhibition. I used hand engraving on the band to mimic the reflective texture and patterns of the filigree t-bar and side segments without adding weight and rivets and clasps so that the four components could be unhooked and worn separately/in different combinations. These hooks are flat on the inside for comfort and also mean that the piece can be disa...ssembled and transported with ease. The entire headpiece weighs 294g and is made predominantly out of fine silver, every piece has been hand fabricated right down to cutting the mookaite cabs myself. The entire process took 311 hours exclusive of design and troubleshooting time. You can find more information on the inspiration for this piece and how it came together in my profile highlights.
