24.01.2022 Such a wonderful installation ‘Messengers of Brisbane’ by the internationally renowned artist Florentijn Hofman being part of the Brisbane Festival 2020. There are six giant Gouldian Finches located around Brisbane at QPAC, South Bank, Goodwill Bridge, Brisbane Powerhouse, Queensland Museum and the Brisbane City Hall. Such beautiful urban art which has been brought to life by Brisbane’s Urban Art Projects. Don’t miss the final weekend of the Brisbane Festival 2020. #BrisbaneFestival2020 #UrbanArt #MessengersofBrisbane #MessagesofHope

20.01.2022 Eighty years ago this month in WWII The Battle of Britain took place and we should never forget the significance of this event in the worlds history and the sacrifices of all including our Australian pilots. Below is an extract from The Australian War Memorial. #LestWeForget #RAF #RAAF ‘Twenty-five Australians were considered eligible for the Battle of Britain clasp to the 193945 Star. Others flew during the battle with RAF Bomber Command and Coastal Command but ...the total number involved in the battle did not exceed 35. Eight Australians became air aces by shooting down five or more enemy aircraft. Pat Hughes from Cooma had 14 successes, which puts him among the ten leading aces of the battle. Of the total of 537 RAF Fighter Command pilots who died at least ten were Australian. Another four who were enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force also died. Prime Minister Winston Churchill praised the pilots of the Battle of Britain with his famous words, "Never before in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few."’ Ref The Australian War Memorial website.
19.01.2022 So great to support our live music scene in Brisbane at the Brisbane Jazz Club at Kangaroo Point. We were lucky to see such a talented group of jazz musicians, ‘JJJ Ensemble’ with three of Brisbane’s best jazz musos Justin Stephenson on keys & vocals, Jeremy O'Connor on bass, James Sandon on saxand percussion. They mesmerized the Jazz Club with such soul legends as Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder and George Benson, along with some fabulous own arrangements. Top that with a... delicious meal made by the chefs from the Story Bridge Hotel the night was superb and made a perfect birthday. If you can get out and support our live music scene in these very difficult times please do. Support the small businesses that support them also as there are many people who are relying on the work. #SupportBrisbanesLiveMusicScene #WeCanHelpEachOther #CovidKindness www.brisbanejazzclub.com.au www.storybridgehotel.com.au See more

15.01.2022 One of the best things you can do for the environment is recycle and reuse wonderful old treasures so why not pop down and pick up one of the beautiful antiques at the Camp Hill Antique Centre & Tart Cafe at 545 Old Cleveland Rd, Camp Hill. Not only are you picking up something special and beautiful, you are helping the environment and helping out a fabulous small business. I picked up a stunning lamp that has pride of place at home and also had a delicious lunch at the Tart Cafe. #SomethingOldisNewAgain #RecyleReuse #SupportSmallBusiness #CampHillAntiqueCentre
