25.01.2022 This cute 16cm concrete pot is coming with me to Bentleigh Market tomorrow morning. Not my usual style yet I wanted to try this technique on a pot. It reminds me of local artist @fionaslaterart_ whose work I’ve admired for years. We even did a class inspired by her in my children’s art classes at Sunnyside Art House. Another artist’s work I’ve been admiring lately is @annarobinsonartist over in Perth. She paints in this style and has done a few pots. ... Check them both out and thank you for the inspiration... I admire this technique it’s quite a lot of work once you do an under painting then paint around shapes with white. Hope to see some happy faces tomorrow at the market. 20.01.2022 I must admit I tried for ages to get a photo of the cat in the pot. It was sooo hard! So this is as good as it gets. This pot is HUGE. He’s standing up in it. The smaller version (which isn’t small btw) is next to it. 16.01.2022 I’ve been working on these serving platters for a while. Now I have four ready to sell. Hand painted with food grade resin on top. Wooden boards so can be used for chopping on the other side. Perfect present! I’ll find anywhere to put artworks now it’s on my kitchen bench. 10.01.2022 Something a little different today. Cut out painted paper and a little about me. Doing my own artworks is not my full time job although I do hope it is one day. For the past 8 years I’ve run my own art studio out of my home studio. In the past it’s been mainly kids classes yet in the past few years I’ve moved to adults and NDIS students. This year it’s pretty much just NDIS students with the occasional workshop. This suits my family as classes are during the day and my own c...hildren, now teenagers, don’t have little kids running around our garden every night after school. I really enjoy working with my current students, it’s one on one and we have a great time chatting and creating art together. Any spare moment I have around teaching I paint pots, do paintings and make earrings. Then I spend the weekends at markets selling them. This piece of art I created last week when we were doing collage art and using Laura Blythman’s work as inspiration. I had the privilege of recently meeting Laura at a market after following her work for years. That was a long post, thanks if you made it this far..Happy Friday!
