20.01.2022 SUMMER HOLIDAY TRAINING TIMES From Tuesday 14th January we will be opening Tuesday 7-9pm and Thursday 7-9pm for those who want to shorten the break. These sessions will be open age and mixed skills, so kids and adults, novices and seniors. Our usual training sessions will resume on Monday 3rd February 2020.

17.01.2022 Stage 4 Covid restrictions have been reinstated for 5 days from midnight tonight. As a result there will be NO TRAINING on: Saturday 13th February (tomorrow) Monday 15th... Tuesday 16th Wednesday 17th At this stage we are working on the assumption we will be returning to training on Thursday 18th February, but will update then.

16.01.2022 Fioretto Fencing Club is still open for all our usual training sessions. Fioretto will continue to open and provide services to our members unless we have reason to believe the club has been compromised or the council or government says otherwise. The club has been enforcing social distancing and no handshaking and as of this week we are sterilising all club equipment used at the end of each session before it is returned to storage. As such if you use any of the following ... Club Masks Foil/Epee or Sabre Body wires Body armour Please put this on the table in the kitchen after use so that it can be sterilised. Our members have been fantastic about self-enforcing ‘no training’ if feeling unwell right down to avoiding the club if they have a simple sniffle. If in doubt, then best not to train. If you are in contact with vulnerable ‘at risk’ groups or persons then it might also be a good idea to consider what activities you take part in. Otherwise don’t feel like you can’t come to training, just play smart and wash your hands. https://www.ausfencing.org/guidelines-for-fencing-in-the-c/

14.01.2022 Who’s coming on Saturday?

11.01.2022 We are all extremely aware of the COVID19 virus and government restrictions on public meetings of groups more than 500 people, and I am sure that everyone is also wondering how this will affect their training as well as work and school. There are NO OFFICIAL restrictions on sporting clubs yet but we are all taking precautions and asking for your help in implementing the follow until otherwise notified: Anyone receiving a diagnosis POSITIVE for COVID19 should notify the club... immediately. If you are unwell please stay home and take a week off training or until you are feeling better. We will suspend the handshake requirement after bouts, please avoid handshaking novel foot shakes are a lot of fun! There will be no use of club crockery (mugs for drinking especially) until otherwise notified. Make sure you bring your own water bottle and no sharing. Everyone should pay special attention to their personal hygiene, washing hands and sneezing/coughing into their arm or a tissue (then throw in bin) This is a good time for people relying on club masks to consider the benefits of owning your own equipment (masks). If you use a club mask we will endeavour to supply disinfectant wipes which you should use before wearing it. BYO if you can because these supplies are hard to find and in limited supply. Make sure you pick up and use your OWN GEAR! Most importantly remember that common sense is the best response to any situation. We would rather that the club remain open and available throughout this time and we encourage everyone to be calm, respectful and considerate. If in doubt, stay home. I would like to thank the number of people who have already demonstrated these qualities in self-isolating at the beginning of the outbreak and for currently avoiding the club when they have had a cold etc. If there is a positive diagnosis within the club community we will respond in accordance with the government advice. As such the club may be closed for a duration according instruction. Thank you all for your co-operation, Brook (Head Coach)

08.01.2022 Happy Christmas to those who celebrate and a wonderful New Year!

08.01.2022 Training is as usual at Fioretto tonight, both cadets and seniors!

06.01.2022 Dear Members, By now everyone will be aware of the nationwide lock down that will take effect on Tuesday. Naturally this affects the club and all our training programs. Monday night, 23rd March, we will not run the Cadet program but we will run one last group session from 7-9pm.... From Tuesday 24th March the club is CLOSED until the government lifts the lockdown restrictions on non-essential travel and activities.

06.01.2022 We are doing a demo at the Clayton Festival today. Come over and say Hi!

04.01.2022 Dear Members, You have probably heard by now but the government updated their info on clubs etc last night. As a result the club is CLOSED effective immediately. All training tonight is cancelled.... At this stage no one can say how long the enforced closure will last but hopefully it is not too long. I will endeavour to send out exercises that everyone can use at home for self-training during the lockdown. Most important will be finding ways to maintain cardio fitness during prolonged confinement indoors. Kind regards, Brook
