25.01.2022 Thanks to our colleagues from MFB (Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade) that have come to support us during these challenging conditions. If you see them around be sure to wave and make them feel welcome in our community!

23.01.2022 All of us at 011 Station Woollahra wish everyone in our community, our family and friends a very Merry Christmas! Remember this time of year is about giving and a time to reflect on how fortunate we are. Please keep our hard working NSW Rural Fire Service , retained and permanent Fire and Rescue NSW brothers and sisters in your thoughts who will miss Christmas with their own families to protect those communities ravaged by the current devastating bush fires.... There has been a lot of loss and tragedy lately, let’s do our best to lift up those around us that need it. Be Safe. Be Merry.

21.01.2022 ‘A’ Platoon carried out a pumping drill utilising our pump and our ladders platform at Rushcutters Bay. Drill is completed every shift, by every platoon, to ensure our skills are maintained and we are #preparedforanything

18.01.2022 September 11 marks a very sad day in U.S. and international history. Together with all Australian firefighters and emergency services workers, we pay our greatest respects to the 412 emergency workers, of which 343 were firefighters, that the world so sadly lost in New York City on that fateful day. We remember them today, we will remember them tomorrow, and they will never be forgotten.... #September11 #RememberingThe343 #911 #FDNY #FRNSWRemembers #911memorial #Remembering911

17.01.2022 Yesterday crews from City of Sydney, Darlinghurst, The Rocks, Bondi and Woollahra were responded to multiple triple zero calls to a house in Double Bay with smo...ke issuing from the roof. After making entry and confirming all persons had been evacuated crews commenced locating the seat of the fire and gaining control. After extensive efforts from all crews the fire was extinguished, sadly the house was left with severe damage to its roof and attic. It is a timely reminder to have a working smoke alarm and fire escape plan. Photos by K-H Media

14.01.2022 A few pictures care of Fire and Rescue NSW Station 027 Parramatta to illustrate what our crews see when assisting with the bushfire effort.

13.01.2022 Notice anything different?! Thanks again to our MFB (Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade) colleagues for looking after our station area today while our pump was standing by at Fire and Rescue NSW Station 343 Katoomba.

13.01.2022 Happy Easter from everyone at 011 Station Woollahra! Remember stay home, stay safe!

13.01.2022 Again we are mourning the loss of a firefighter that gave his life trying to save the lives and properties of others. Please keep Samuel McPaul’s family, friends and all of his crew from the Morven Brigade in your thoughts. Today Service flags will be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect.

12.01.2022 Absolutely heart breaking news out of Victoria yesterday. We mourn the loss of the four members of Victoria Police who were killed on duty. Our thoughts are with their families, friends and colleagues at this terrible time.

09.01.2022 On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the guns of the western front fell silent. Today, on the anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I, we remember those who both served and died. From a population of fewer than five million, 416,809 Australians enlisted, of whom more than 60,000 were killed and 156,000 wounded, gassed or taken prisoner. Thank you all who serve both past and present. We salute and honour you.

09.01.2022 PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT NSW Health is urging anyone who attended the Crossroads Hotel at Casula between Friday 3 July and Friday 10 July to: - immediately self-iso...late until 14 days after they were last there - get tested even if they have no symptoms - watch for symptoms and get retested should any respiratory symptoms occur - even if you get a negative test stay in isolation for 14 days. The warning follows confirmation of an additional four cases of COVID-19 directly linked to the hotel: - a South Western Sydney teenager who worked at the hotel on several days including 3 July - a close contact of this worker, a South Western Sydney woman in her 50s - a South Western Sydney woman in her 40s who had dinner at the hotel on 3 July - a Victorian man in his 20s who had dinner at the hotel on 3 July These four are in addition to the five previously reported cases in a woman in her 30s from South Western Sydney and a man in his 50s from the Blue Mountains who had dinner at the hotel on 3 July. This man’s three household contacts have also been confirmed as positive for COVID-19. The total number of cases linked to the hotel is nine. None of these cases appear likely to have been the source of infection at the hotel. NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant said anyone who either worked or visited the Crossroads Hotel from 3-10 July should isolate themselves for 14 days after they were last at the hotel, regardless of symptoms or test results, and be tested even if they are not displaying any symptoms. If you were at the Crossroads Hotel between 3 and 10 July you may be at risk of infection and you must isolate yourself to avoid spreading COVID-19 to others. While investigations are continuing, it is vital people get tested so we can try and establish the source of infection at the hotel. I encourage people to access a number of clinics at local hospitals at Campbelltown, Fairfield and Liverpool so people are tested as quickly as possible, Dr Chant said. Additional staff have been deployed to the pop-up clinic at the Crossroads Hotel to expedite those people who wish to be tested there. Testing is available at Liverpool, Campbelltown and Fairfield Hospitals at these locations: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics Testing is also available through GP clinics. The pop-up clinic in the carpark of the Crossroads Hotel is open until 5pm today. As this clinic is quite busy, people are asked to be patient and attend the other clinics where possible. It’s essential that we all take the risk of transmission very seriously and take steps to protect ourselves and loved ones: - If you have even mild symptoms, a cold or cough, get tested and stay home until you’re cleared. - Keep your distance from others at all times even if you are well. - If you have been in Victoria, don’t mix with other people until two weeks has passed. People who work in high-risk settings such as health care facilities or aged care homes must not to attend work if they have symptoms and must get tested immediately. People should also not visit relatives in these settings if they have even the mildest of symptoms or have recently returned from Victoria.

08.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.... Lest We Forget

05.01.2022 We mourn the loss of the crew operating the Coulson Aviation - Next Gen Firefighting Large Air Tanker C130. These men left their families and friends in the US to help protect our lives and properties. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of these men, the crews that saw the aircraft off, the emergency service personnel that are involved in the recovery, and to all men and women directly and indirectly still battling these fires.... Such a terrible loss.

04.01.2022 As part of the Australia Day celebrations on the grounds of Government House, Woollahra’s ladders crew were able to watch the Fire & Rescue NSW Band and Precision Drill Marching Team put on a show, and what a show it was! The audience loved it and there was plenty of crowd participation! Well done to the guys and girls in our band!

02.01.2022 The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) confirms that two NSW RFS volunteer firefighters have died tonight near Buxton, in south western Sydney. The deaths occurred following a vehicle rollover earlier this evening during firefighting operations. It is believed the vehicle, while travelling in convey, hit a tree before rolling off the road. Another three firefighters have received injuries as a result of the accident.... The Service’s thoughts are with all the firefighter’s family, friends and fellow brigade members. This is an absolutely devastating event in what has already been an incredibly difficult day and fire season.

01.01.2022 Remember, it ain’t weak to speak!
