12.01.2022 2020 CHRISTMAS APPEAL Every year FRNSW receive presents that are donated from the community as part of the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal on the Central Coast.... Today sisters Alison and Melissa Monaghan from Kariong, arrived at Gosford Fire and Rescue Station with their mother’s [Janelle] van loaded to the brim with toys, puzzles, games, trikes, Barbies and more presents that they have been gathering throughout the year. This is the 10th year they have been doing this. Since Melissa got her drivers license Their selfless spirit and generosity, especially this year should not go unnoticed. All of the firefighters at Gosford and the rest of FRNSW hope you have an amazing Christmas since you’ll be putting smiles on so many children’s faces. Thank you... #centralcoast #community #salvationarmy #MoreThanFire #PreparedforAnything #FRNSW

03.01.2022 This long weekend, when you change your clocks, check your smoke alarm! Many smoke alarms installed before or in the couple of years since 2010 are now startin...g to reach the end of their life span and will need to be replaced if they are out of date. Don’t risk it, test it. Working smoke alarms help save lives. #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

02.01.2022 FIRE SAFETY TIP #04 | Cigarettes can be deadly in more ways than one. House and grass fires are commonly caused by improperly extinguished or tossed cigarettes.... Always discard and extinguish cigarettes in a container made from either metal, glass or ceramic material - like an ash tray. For more fire safety tips, visit us: https://fal.cn/3cdS1. See more

01.01.2022 IGNITABLE LIQUID DETECTION CANINES | Congratulations to brothers Xenos and Xando for graduating with flying colours to become fully-fledged Ignitable Liquid Det...ection Canines for Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW). Handlers Craig Gordon (Xenos) and Ray Irving (Xando) are fully aware that they have one of the best jobs in FRNSW with two of only three dogs of their kind in Australia. They join canine colleague Gandalf and handler Tim Garret on the frontlines. FRNSW’s detection canine program began in 1995 and the animals have proven their worth many times over in determining the cause of numerous fires across NSW. #MoreThanFire #PreparedForAnything
